This was it! Last week of summer school. I was super excited to be done with school for a while until regular school started in a month. But first I would have to do my final exams before I could celebrate. I was confident that I would get all A's in my classes. I studied hard enough for the exams. Any spare time I had I studied a little bit more. Even at work, when I was on my breaks I would study. I even made sure that I went to sleep at a decent time instead of staying up late online talking to friends or watching TV. I tried to focus on studying, but every once in a while I would think about Joseph. He would send me text messages that said: 'Keep studying, I'm proud of you, and I miss you.' That even distracted me more, but somehow I managed to get through each day. It had been a long week.
To top it off, we had to get ready for the Art Show on Friday. I finally finished my last project for the show. I even surprised myself in the end. I didn't think it was gonna come out that good since it took me forever to finish it.
It was the last day of finals and I had a 3 hour exam for my art history class. We had to write an essay and take a multiple choice test. I was so tired after I finished, but I was so relieved since I knew it was the last exam I would be taking a while. After that I went home for a short nap before I had to head to work. I decided to call Joseph on my break:
"Hello?"
"Hey Joseph!"
"Hi Nicole, I missed you."
"I'm done with school!"
"Cool, you excited for the art show tomorrow night?"
"Yeah, I finished my last project for it."
"Nice, what is it?"
"It's a surprise. Gonna have to wait and see it tomorrow."
"Haha alright, but hey I gotta go. I have to pick up Eric. His car is in the shop. I'll see you tomorrow night?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, bye Nicole."
"Bye."
It was good to finally hear Joseph's voice again. Haven't talked to him for a couple of days. I finished the rest of my work and headed home. I laid out my dress on the couch to make sure there were no wrinkles in it. I found my high heels in my closet and put them in the living room so I wouldn't have trouble looking for them tomorrow. I watched TV for a while then I headed to bed.
