Eric

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey. You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."

I grinned and pulled Sasha closer, so she was in between the wall and myself. "You sound like a dying cat."

"Take that back. Now." She yelled, slapping my chest, "it's not like you could do better."

"The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken, so I hung my head, and I cried." I sung softly, punctuating every line with a kiss, and gently lifting her up and letting the wall bear most of her weight as her legs wound around my waist.

At the end of the verse, I pressed my lips to hers, deepening the kiss immediately, I felt her smile as she slowly pulled away. I watched as the wind tugged at her hair, committing her face to memory.

She's so beautiful.

"Let me down, you ass, before I do something stupid, like fall in love with you."

"Wouldn't be very Erudite if you." I pointed out, lowering her to the floor, but keeping a hand clasped around hers.

"A reason why I didn't act on my Aptitude and choose the faction." I raised my eyebrow as she spun elegantly in the carriage, and stepped back for the finish.

Sasha's hand left mine.

Stumbling briefly, a look of fear flitted over her features, then it was gone; she was gone.

I dived from the carriage, and rushed towards the lone body, drenched in crimson, limbs positioned in unnatural angles.

"Eric, you done this, you let me go!" She sobbed.

"Sash, I swear it wasn't me! I never want to let you go!" I begged her, tears attacking the back of my eyes as the pressure built in my chest.

"You're a liar! You're a ruthless, sadistic monster. You let me go! you let me die!"

I dropped to my knees, she was right, I am a ruthless, sadistic monster, but I won't let her go, I won't let Sasha die, not this time.

"I love you Sash."

She was my sunshine, my only sunshine, she made me happy when skies were grey, she never knew how much I loved her.

Please don't take my sunshine away.

"Eric, you're a monster, incapable of love." Her tone was so light, and the breaths shuddered in her mangled ribs, "you never loved me, like I never loved you."

"No." I groaned, the tears finally slipping down my face, as her eyes slowly lost their lights.

"Eric, you killed me."

No.

"Eric, you killed me, it's your fault."

Please don't take my sunshine away.

"You're the reason I'm dead."
