December 24th:
My phone is now officially full of pictures of Ayla, Kit and Tate. She sent me a picture last night of the three of them all wearing reindeer antlers and I'm not gonna lie, I was a little jealous that I was not involved. Hopefully they'll have a pair for me when I get home tonight.
I can't wait to see my girl and spend the next two weeks, at least, with her and the rest of my family. Christmas is always my favorite time of year, but now that I have everything I've wanted it will be even better. Well, almost everything. Maybe by this time next year I'll be able to hold a baby for Christmas.
Ayla and I had agreed that we wouldn't talk about a baby, wouldn't even think about it and just Do what we have been doing. Living life normally. Inside, that kills me. Wondering if this time will be the time. But I need to stop thinking that way. It will happen, when it happens. If it happens. Right now though, my mind is wrapped around hope that Ayla likes her Christmas present.

"I can't believe how big they are already," I said to Ayla as I watched our not-so-small pups run in the backyard.
It was snowing and they seemed to be loving it.
"I know!" Ayla shot a pout. "But they're still so cute!"
What was cute was her, right now. It was obvious that she was crazy about these dogs and I couldn't be more happy about that. I guess surprising her with them was a pretty good idea. Yeah I wanted them too, of course, but they were the ultimate icebreaker for me.
For the past two months I have constantly reflected on what my life is like right now. Never before have I rememebered doing that. I met a girl and married her all in three years. I'm still finding that a little hard to believe. Whenever I look down at my left hand and see the thin gold band, it is a wonderful reminder that I made the best decision of my life.
"I vote," Ayla came over and threw her snow-covered arms around my neck. "That we go inside, drink hot chocolate and you let me give you your Christmas present."
"Only if with at least 1 of those, you're naked," I told her.
"Hmm, we'll see."

I have no idea when Ayla gets the time or how she does it, but she manages to buy the best gifts. With her, the meaning behind everything she has gotten me is great. I know she'd say the same around me; In fact she has, but seriously - as much as I try and spoil her, she spoils me.
This year was no different. Although I got some nice clothes that apparently only she knows fits properly, I also got some very cute, very funny new husband gifts. You know, honey-do list stationary and the likes. She had a stocking full of candy and dog toys and was wearing an insanely sexy piece of lingerie that kept me well distracted from fully seeing everything she got for me. Ultimately after I had given her the robe, shoes and adorable 'things you see in the store and you know your wife will love them' things, we laid on the floor by the fireplace and I opened the greatest gift.

December 25th:
"I can't believe that you're getting married," I said hugging my sister for the first time in months. "I'm really happy for you."
"Thank you baby brother," Clare smiled back at me. "I was very surprised that it happened actually. I don't think I've ever been in a relationship that made me even think about marriage, let alone be asked to marry."
"So," Ayla snuck up and pinched my sister. "Have you guys talked about a date yet?"
"Well, actually, we recently went to a convention together over at the Concordia Plaza and it was gorgeous. There was a booklet there that showed different wedding styles for each season and I think we both liked Autumn styles. So we're tentatively looking at November of next year."
