Karen
August 16th:
"What time is it?" Chris groggily asked as he rolled over in bed.
"5:15."
"Why are you up so early?" He mumbled.
"Well, I'm too excited to sleep and there's lots to do this morning!" I announced.
"Karen, the wedding isn't until 5:30. You have plenty of time. Come back to bed."
"No. Can't. There's breakfast to eat, mimosas to drink, fun to be had," I pointed out in the midst of gathering all of my things up. "And we are riding over to the manor early for all of this. You guys will be here in the hotel."
"Are you doing all of this yourself?" He laughed.
"God no. Tanya and I have been setting this up," I said, walking over to his side of the hotel bed. "I love you and I'll see you some time soon."
I have him a kiss and then was out the door.
"Well, that couldn't have been better timing," Tanya boasted as she walked my direction. "Good morning!"
"Good morning!"
"I am so glad that we took all of our dresses as stuff over to the house last night," she said, carrying only her purse.
"Oh, I know. Otherwise I would have been panicking all morning."
"Here is Ayla and Jai's room key," she said, handing it to me. "I'm going to go wake the other girls up, they're harder to get going."
"You have their keys too?"
"Oh yeah, I made them give 'em to me yesterday so I could be their alarm clock today," she smirked.
"Damn, that was smart," I encouraged. "Alright, I'll go get these girls. I'm pretty sure Megan and Clare are there with her too, right?"
"That's right!"
"Wonderful. Okay, we'll all meet downstairs in like 15, 20 minutes?"
"Perfect," she agreed.
I took the elevator to the next floor up and moved quietly down the hall until I got to thier room. I tapped the card and slowly opened the door. I expected to see three sleeping bodies on that big bed, but was pleasantly surprised to see Ayla awake.
"Good morning Mrs. Courtney," I whispered as I slowly closed the door behind me.
Her face lit up and she stood from the bed.
"Not a Courtney yet, almost though," she quietly replied.
"Close enough," I pointed out. "How are you feeling?"
"I feel great! I've been up since 5:00. I can't sleep anymore. I am way too excited."
"I'm sure you are!"
"We are too," I heard Clare grumble from the bed.
"Yeah, is it time yet?" Megan stretched.
"I wish, but we still have a few hours yet," Ayla sighed.
"But, the festivities are starting early," I noted. "Come on ladies, get your bags and anything else you need because we're going over to the manor for breakfast and drinks and whatever else we want."
"What time are your photographers coming Ay?" Megan asked.
"They'll both be here at 4:30."
"Excellent," Megan said, climbing off the bed and putting her hair into a ponytail. "That means I get to take all the good pictures before they get here."
