This post is very special to me.  It's something that my mom bought me.  Now...I know that my mom loves me.  She doesn't have to go out and buy me things to prove that.   But she did get me something nice for Christmas this year.  It's something I had been looking for, something I wanted but never bought for myself.

I know what you're thinking (ok, maybe I don't) a necklace is a strange thing never to buy for yourself.  This may be true but I don't usually go out and buy jewelry.  My necklace collection is quite small actually.  Up until Christmastime I didn't have any necklaces to wear.

That being said I was on the hunt.  I had searched high and low for the perfect necklace (I'm really picky about these things).  I didn't know quite what I wanted I just knew what I didn't want.  Every store I ever went to held everything I didn't want.

So Christmas rolled around and my mom took me to the jewelry section of the store we were in and told me "Pick out a necklace."

I was kind of shocked.  I didn't know how to pick out a necklace.  I didn't know what I wanted.  BUT I tried on several just because it was fun.  I didn't find any I liked.  But my mom was persistent and said that I needed to find one.

Guess what, I did find one.  My story ends happy.  I found the necklace I wanted.  I opened it on Christmas, wore it a couple of times (and will still continue to wear it), and was too nervous to take it on a plane across the country with me.
