I don't know how well you all can see that lovely picture I attempted at taking.  It's sitting (hopefully) it's it's place over to the right.

Yes, I know.  It's really 2 quotes.  But I love them nonetheless.  To be honest with you these aren't my favorite quotes because I find it hard to pick a favorite quote.  I could have loaded you up with several hundred of what I think are the best quotes out there but I decided to stick to only two.  Yes, you can thank me now.  I also realize that 1- I have bad handwriting and 2- the quotes are written on Christmas paper.

I chose these two quotes because they portray something that I feel everyone needs to have in their life.

Quote 1:

Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves  -James M Barrie

Why did I pick this one? I have one word that fits so perfectly with this quote.  SERVICE.  Every single one of us can get out there and do something.  There are endless opportunities all around you to serve.  When we serve others we can't help but feel happier ourselves.

Quote 2:

Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little - Edmund Burke

Why did I pick this one? Once again...SERVICE.  You don't have give up every penny you earn to charity, or spend hours each week in organized activity helping others.  Even if you can only give a little it's better than doing nothing at all.  Open your eyes, take the music out of your ears, be observant.  You'll be surprised at how much you are missing if you just look.  Someone might need help opening the door because their arms are full.  Someone might need a friendly hello.  Maybe you could pick up that thing that someone dropped.  Maybe someone just needs a friendly smile.

Challenge:

Go out and SERVE!  Pick one thing, big or small, and make it a goal for this week to do.  Maybe it will be to say hello to the neighbor.  Maybe you can bring some homemade soup to a sick friend.  Do you know someone who could use a happy handwritten letter?  Is there someone who lives next to you who doesn't get any visitors? Could you just make an effort to smile. Maybe there is an organization you can volunteer at?  Whatever you choose to do, make a goal, and go and do it!  Let me know how it goes!
