I was all excited for today. I had a brilliant idea for today's post. I have been thinking about it for weeks! As soon as I turned on my computer I dashed over to my camera and started taking photo upon photo of what I was to post today...or what I thought I was supposed to post today. For some reason I thought today was a different day. To my surprise (after I snapped several pictures) I found that today's challenge was to photograph a talent of mine.
My awesome idea of awesomeness will have to wait for another day.
A talent...
I cannot draw, paint, decorate cakes, create lions out of foam, or carve elaborate figures from wood, stone, or soap. I don't play any musical instruments (even though I've tried a couple). I don't speak multiple languages (even though I've tried quite a few). Needless to say a talent of mine was hard to come up with.
But I do have talents. I'm not going to go into all of them, just one. What you are looking at is my talent! It's called Swedish Weaving. Basically the way I do it is take a piece of Monk's cloth and weave yarn (with a BIG needle) into it to make a design. TA-DA! That's my talent!
The whole procedure is actually very easy. It doesn't take an artist's mind to do it. My little handy dandy Swedish Weave Book gives me all the steps, I do the weaving, and I come out with a masterpiece. This is the kind of art I enjoy.
So, maybe after all, this is not really a talent...maybe it's more of a hobby...but I decided for one day to pretend that it is a talent.
