Chapter 21: Decisions
I didn't see Charlie at dinner last night. I did look for him but he was nowhere to be found. Just when I thought that everything was fine, things started to go wrong. Why? I didn't sleep well that night. I was bothered with questions. "Why" is the worst of all.
This morning, I just found out that Charlie already left, leaving me a letter, a ticket and a small box sized for a bracelet probably. I opened the letter and read it.
Dear Kath,
I am sorry for not saying goodbye. It will be much harder for both of us so I left this instead. I will wait for you. I will wait where the flowers bloom. I will be sitting on the bench where we once sat. I left you with a decision. I am willing to wait for you no matter how long it will take you to decide. I love you.
Sincerely,
Charlie.
In the envelope along with the letter was a ticket. It is an open ticket. An open ticket is a travel ticket with no fixed travel dates or times but it has a fixed validity period. The ticket is valid until next year. I was left with a decision. I opened the small box and there was the bracelet. I left it untouched.
