Aria opens her eyes and turns onto her side, to find her fiancé staring at her.
"Good morning" She said, reaching over to kiss his lips.
"Good morning beautiful" he said, pulling the covers over his body and getting out of bed.
"Ezra!" Aria shrieked, trying to find her clothes.
She found them scattered across the floor as Ezra pranced around the apartment, wrapped in the sheets.
"You think your so funny, don't you?" Aria questions, pulling on her clothes.
"I don't think. I know" he laughs, pulling the orange juice out of the fridge and setting it on the table.
Once Aria was completely dressed she walked over to the kitchen table and sat down.
"So what's for breakfast? I mean it's a tradition that you have to make your fiancé a nice breakfast after you get engaged" She taunts him, twirling her hair around her finger.
"Oh I have something planned" He says, yanking on the blanket which had gotten stuck underneath a table leg.
"Shouldn't you get dressed?" She laughs, which made Ezra smile too.
She always made him smile.
"Yes that's what I was forgetting to do" He dragged the blanket over to his dresser and gets dressed while Aria sips on her orange juice.
He returned minutes later.
"So I want to know what my special breakfast is" She said, crossing her leg.
"You're just going to have to wait and see" He mocks her, opening the fridge.
"Damn. I don't have any eggs" He says, slamming the refrigerator door.
"Just make something else, it's ok" Aria reassures him.
"No I need eggs" he said, laughing.
"Fine, I'll run down the street and get some eggs" She says, grabbing his car keys off the counter and proceeded to the door.
"Wait! You forgot something" Ezra calls after her.
Aria looks down at herself. She has a five dollar bill in one hand and the keys in her other. She didn't think she'd forgotten anything. All of a sudden, she is spun around by a strong grip and she was face to face with Ezra.
"Yes you did" He says, giving her a little kiss on her lips, making her long for more.
"I gotta go I'll see you later" She says, shutting the door and running down the steps.
Ezra opens the door to make sure she was really gone. When he knew she was, he opened the fridge and got the eggs out. He had to act fast. If he had calculated correctly, it would take her five minutes to drive to the store and about ten minutes to get the eggs and wait in line, it would take five minutes to drive home so that left him with about twenty minutes and he had to use every minute of it. He first went to the cabinet and pulled out a round clear bowel. He cracked the eggs, put in the flour, sugar, baking soda and water, and mixed them all together. Once they were mixed, he pulled out a pan and placed it on the stove. He put a piece of butter on the pan and impatiently waited for it to melt. He poured the mixture into the pan and continued the process of pouring and flipping until he had a plate full of pancakes. He placed them on the table and continued his work. He pulled out the bacon and assembled them on the pan into little hearts. He popped the pan in the oven. He cut the strawberries and washed them, placing them into little bowels, next to the plates of pancakes. The timer beeped and he went to retrieve his bacon hearts. He placed them on the plate with the pancakes, then left the extra ones on the stove. He ran over to the dresser again and checked his watch. Ezra Fitz was always a planner, wanting to make everything perfect. He pulled out a navy blue button down shirt and khakis. He changed into those clothes and checked his watch again. Aria should be home any minute. He dimmed the lights and ran over to the table, standing in front of it. He heard the lock turn and adjusted his tie. He hoped everything was perfect. He'd searched Pinterest all night, trying to find the idea.
"Ezra, they only had a eight count egg. I hope that's enough" She called, fidgeting with the keys to lock the door. "Why is it so dark in here?"
Aria turned around and looked up at a smiling Ezra.
"Oh my god" She shrieked, dropping the eggs onto the floor and running to him.
"Surprise" He called
She wrapped her arms around his body and laid her head in his chest.
"I love you so much" She said, lifting her head.
She looked into those eyes and just smiled. He leaned down and smashed his lips onto hers. He lifted her up in the air like he had the night before and spun her.
"I love you too"
The kiss was interrupted by the sound of Ezra's stomach rumbling. Aria released her lips from his and laughed. He let her down and she sat down at the table. He sat down opposite to her and smiled at her, cutting her pancakes.
"I guess we need new eggs" He said, pointing to the open container that was dripping yolk all over the floor.
"Sorry" She smirked.
They ate their breakfast, each of them looking up once in awhile to admire their fiancé. When they were finished and everything was cleaned up, Aria speaks.
"I've got a little surprise for you too" She says.
"Oh yeah?" Ezra questions, flipping through the book he was reading.
"Yes" She pulls some magazines out of her purse. "We're going to plan the wedding"
Ezra jolts off the couch and runs to her. They both sit down at the kitchen table.
"You know, Ezra. I have been dreaming of this since I was sixteen. I had dreamed of being your wife. I had dreamed of being called Mrs.Fitz" She says, taking his hand in hers.
"I had always dreamed that you'd been the one that I'd wait at the end of the aisle for. The one I'd cry for when we were saying our vows and the only one I could ever imagine being called Mrs. Fitz" He smiles at her and realizing this is when their life begins.
