"Incurable?" Ezra questions, shaking his head and running his hands through his hair. "Nothing's incurable"
"Apparently it is" Aria responds, trying to hold back the tears.
Today she'd gone to the doctors because she hadn't been feeling well lately. She didn't think it was anything important. Maybe just a stomach ache or a cold. She wasn't prepared to hear that she had stage four cancer after the tests were ran.
"There has to be something they can do" Ezra says and I shake my head.
"They say I have about 12 to 15 months to live" She explains.
"No! No!" He screams, punching the wall which causes Aria to jump. "I can't loose you!"
"I know, I know" She says, wrapping her arms around him. "I don't want to loose you either"
"How come some of the worst people get to live? How come one of the sweetest, most caring, amazing, beautiful woman..." He trails off, at a loss for words. "Please don't die Aria"
He cries into her shoulder and she cries with him.
"I'm not going to sit around for these next few months waiting for my death day" She announces, wiping the tears off her cheeks.
"Then what are you suggesting?" He asks.
"We're finishing my bucket list" She smiles.
.............................................................................Aria hands Ezra her list and he examines it.
1. Get married.
2. Go parasailing.
3. Go to Paris.
4. Live in a big house
5. Watch the sunset next to the love of my life.
6. Start a family.
7. Have kids."I know we probably won't be able to accomplish the last part since there won't be enough time" She shakes her head.
"Hey" Ezra says, pulling Aria into his arms. "I will make sure every one of these things is completed"
And Ezra did just that. He booked a trip to Paris. He got the closest flight which left tomorrow morning. They flew to Paris where they stayed in a fancy hotel, walked the streets and shopped, watched the sunset, made love.
"Good morning" Aria calls, waving her fingers at Ezra as she pranced around the hotel room in the yellow shirt.
"Good morning my love" He says, stretching his arms into the air.
She grins into her coffee cup but doesn't reply.
"Today's our last day" He announces, getting out of bed and pulling on his shirt.
"Ughhh" She cries. "I don't want to leave"
"Neither do I but I have some amazing things planned for us at home" He says, kissing her head and going to make his coffee.
Two hours later, Ezra and Aria were in the airport awaiting their trip home. They boarded the plan where Aria curled into Ezra's side and slept the rest of the flight. Ezra couldn't help but smile, watching her sleep. She was like a peaceful little fairy. Soon enough, they were home. They got off the plane and immediately went back to the apartment where they slept the day away, wrapped in each other's arms. When they finally woke up, Ezra decided to take Aria house hunting. They toured house after house until they found the most beautiful one that was surrounded by a white picket fence. Their own little picket fence paradise.
"Oh Ezra!" Aria shrieks, hugging him. "I love it"
The next day, they planned on moving in. All of Aria's friends and family helped move in their furniture. Aria's mom volunteered to take Aria shopping for more stuff while Ezra planned Aria's surprise. He worked all day until she got home on it.
"Ezra!" She called, walking up the stairs towards his direction.
"I'm in here, babe!" He shouts, trying to make the finishing touches.
She opens the door and drops her shopping bags.
"I know this didn't happen yet and it might never but it's the thought that counts and I wanted to make you happy" Ezra says which causes Aria to cry and smile at the same time.
"Thank you" She says, admiring the small baby room Ezra had assembled all by himself.
"Next thing on the list" Ezra says, pulling out the crumbled up piece of paper. "We're going to California!"
The next day, Ezra and Aria boarded their second plane of the month.
"You're spending all this money for us to just go parasailing?" Aria says, laughing. "You didn't have to do that"
"Hey, its on the list" Ezra smirks. "And you better not chicken out before we get there, you hear that Montgomery?"
"Oh I hear you, Fitz" She smiles wide.
A short while after, Ezra and Aria boarded a boat and were sailing far into the ocean.
"Ezra, is there sharks here?" Aria asks, suddenly panicking.
"Of course there is sharks here babe" He says, strapping his life jacket. "But don't worry, I'll protect you"
Finally, it was their turn. They were strapped in and the countdown began.
"In five.. four.. three" Everyone shouted as Aria squeezed Ezra's hand. "Two... one"
They shot back and up into the air. Ezra was sure Aria's screams could be heard from a mile away.
"Hey, you're okay" Ezra assures her.
She calms down and looks over at Ezra.
"It's so peaceful up here" She says. "My two favorite views"
She motions towards the ocean and then Ezra.
"Mine too" He replies.
Ezra and Aria ended the night at a fancy restaurant and then wrapped in each other's arms at the hotel. The next day they hit the beaches, Aria makes her way down the beach.
"Come on, walk faster" Aria whines as Ezra drags behind.
"I'm moving as fast as I can!" Ezra shouts, suddenly picking up his speed and racing after Aria, kicking up sand in the process.
They spent the whole day at the beach until sunset, crashing in the waves and making sand castles.
"I really appreciate this" Aria says. "All of this"
"You know I'd do anything for you" He replies.
"I know and that's what's going to make it so much harder to say goodbye" She says and Ezra shakes his head.
"Like you said, let's not think about that now" He gets off the sand and grabs Aria's hand, pulling her up. "We're not living in the future, we're living in the present. Race you back to the car"
He takes off down the beach.
"I'm going to kill you Fitz!" She yells trailing behind.
Two days later, Aria and Ezra were back in Rosewood. It was a very important day for the both of them.
"Oh Aria!" Spencer calls "you look beautiful"
Aria twirls in front of the mirror.
"Thanks Spence" She pulls her into a hug.
"I can't believe my best friend is getting married today" Spencer says, giving Aria a huge smile. "Ugh I love you so much"
"I love you too Spence" Aria hugs Spencer again and holds on for a little long.
There was a predicted time span but who knows. This could be her last hug. Her last time she saw some people. She wanted to make it special.
"Let's get you out there!" Spencer calls, grabbing her arm and leading her to the front of the church.
Ezra was waiting for her on the other side of those doors.
"You ready?" Her father asks, taking her arm.
"I'm ready" She replies
The doors opened and they started walking. The sight of Aria took Ezra's breath away. She had a beautiful white dress on that flowed.
"Aria Marie Montgomery" Ezra says when she reaches him. "You amaze me everyday"
"So do you" She says giggling.
The ceremony lasted a few hours and Ezra and Aria were exhausted. They decided it was best to have a relaxing honeymoon here in Rosewood.
"Mrs Fitz!" Ezra called from the bedroom three days later.
"Yes my wonderful husband?" Aria asks.
"What is this?" He questions, holding up a small box.
"It's your present" She says, giggling. "open it"
Ezra tears at the wrapping paper until all that is left is a plain cardboard box. He unfolds the flaps and pulls out a t-shirt.
"Are you serious?" He shouts, excitedly.
"One hundred percent" She replies. "And I know there's risks but I know we'll get through them. This is our miracle"
"I love you so much" Ezra says, picking up Aria and throwing the "you're going to be a daddy" shirt onto the bed.
Five months later, nothing much has been said about Aria's cancer treatments. They said there wasn't much she could do. She went to doctors appointments every week and took antibiotics. At Aria's five month scan, she was told something she knew but didn't want to hear.
"We think that having a baby would put too much stress on your body. We don't think the safest thing would be to have this baby" The doctor told Aria as she sat on the examining table.
"No! No" Aria shouts, squeezing Ezra's hand.
"This is our miracle and no one is taking her away from me"
"I understand that, Mrs. Fitz. We just think it will cause you more harm" The doctor explains but Aria doesn't want to hear it.
"I don't care" She says and jumps off the table, leaving the doctor in the room as Ezra trailed behind.
"Aria I want to have this baby too but I don't want anything to happen to you" Ezra says and Aria shakes her head.
"Something will happen to me! I'm going to die and the only thing you'll have of me is this baby and if it causes me to die quicker than that's the sacrifice I need to make! I can't leave you all alone!"
"Aria" Ezra says.
"Ezra, please. We have to have faith" She tells him, wrapping her arms around his body.
"It will all be okay, Ar" He says, stroking her hair. "It will all be okay"
Aria continued with the pregnancy although everyone but Ezra told her she was making the wrong decision. But she knew in her heart she was making the right one. Four months later, the time had finally come to have her baby. She pushed for hours until her beautiful baby girl came into the world.
"Welcome to the world Faith Marie Fitz" Aria smiles, looking down at the baby she and Ezra had created. She looked down at the little miracle that she hadn't given up on. The little piece of herself that Ezra would have forever.
A few months after Faith was born, Aria came home from one of her doctors appointments. They had told her in these last few months she would begin to feel weak. She might not be able to dress herself or hold her baby and Ezra had been trying his best to do everything for her but Aria wouldn't let that happen. She had been feeling fine and didn't know what all the fuss was about.
"Ezra!" Aria calls, opening the front door. "I have something to tell you"
Ezra walks in from the other room holding Faith. He leans in, kissing Aria on her cheek.
Aria starts to tear up.
"Aria, what's wrong?" Ezra asks, suddenly panicking.
"My cancer" She starts and Ezra tears up too.
"What about it?" He asks, although he thinks he knows the answer.
"It's gone" She finally chokes out.
"What? How can it be gone?" Ezra shrieks, a huge smile crossing his face.
"They said it was a miracle. I'm cured" She replies.
"Then why are you crying?" He asks, shaking his head.
"These are happy tears" Aria says, taking the baby out of Ezra's arms.
"I love you" Ezra says, wrapping his arms around them both.
"Like I told you Ezra, we had to have faith" She smirks. "We finished the list babe, we did it"
