Ella Montgomery visited the hospital every single day, showing Ezra and Aria old pictures and telling them about each other. It was still a shock to both of them but especially Aria. She didn't think she'd be married so young. She thought she'd be pursuing a photography career but she learned she'd worked in publishing instead and even written a book. It was crazy. Her writing was always kept to herself, never shared with anyone.
"Anything?" Ella asks, holding up a photo of Aria sitting in Ezra's lap and Spencer sticking out her tongue in the background. They looked like they were in someone's yard at some kind of party. "This was your summer barbecue this year"
Aria shakes her head. "Is that Spencer Hastings? I haven't seen her in so long"
Ella nods. "Yes, that's Spencer"
Byron looks over at Ella and motions her out of the room where they try to whisper without Aria hearing.
"If she can't remember the last eight years of her life, that means she doesn't remember A or the dollhouse. Maybe this a good thing" Byron says and Ella shrugs. She didn't think it was a good thing. Aria was forgetting the love of her life.
"I'll be back tomorrow sweetie" Ella says, when she came back inside the room. "I'm going to leave these picture here for you two"
After awhile, Aria had the strength to pick up the photos. There had to be hundreds of them. Hundreds of pictures of her and a man she didn't know. She scanned the pictures. Ezra and her holding hands in the park. Ezra and her in front of a house, hands in the air with excitement. Ezra and her kissing. Ezra and her with her parents. Ezra with her friends. She slammed down the photos as frustration ran through her body.
"You alright down there?" Ezra asks
"I'm okay" She replies biting her lip.
"You don't seem okay" He shakes his head.
"How can you be so calm? We're supposed to be soulmates and we don't even remember each other" Aria says, running her hands through her hair.
"I believe it will all be okay in the end. We'll find out way back to each other" Ezra assures her, picking the photos off the side table and examining them himself.
Soon, Ezra and Aria were released. They didn't have their memories but they were stable. All injuries were gone and they were healthy. One night Aria was looking around her room for something to read when a book caught her eye. She picked it up and read the scribbly handwriting from inside the cover. "When you need to leave Rosewood"
Aria shut the book and realized what she had to do. She had Ella drive her over to Ezra's apartment over the brew.
Ezra was sitting in his bed, sighing. He couldn't remember why he never pursued his English career or why he now owned a coffee shop. He heard a small knock at the door and he slid off the bed slowly, approaching the door.
"Hey" Aria greeted once he swung open the door. "Can I come in?"
Ezra motioned her inside. She stood in front of him, breathing heavy.
"I don't know what we are, I don't remember what we used to be. I just know that you make me feel safe. Every night in the hospital, I knew nothing could happen to me if you were there. I just got this feeling" Aria starts and she realized just now how much she longed to wrap her arms around his shoulders.
Ezra stared back at her, narrowing in on her lips. He longed to kiss them and he did. He slammed his lips onto hers. She kissed him back with such passion. Then a wave washed over Aria as she continued to kiss him."Yeah. You're smart. You've traveled, great taste in music. I'd like to know more about you"
"I love you and nothing you just said changes that"
"Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
"I'm in love with your daughter. I love Aria"
"I've lied about a lot of things but I've never lied you, not once about how I feel about you"
"You know there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you, right?"
"I don't want to hear you say you're sorry again"
"I'm not going to apologize for loving you"
"Aria, its French vegan food. I must really love you"
"I drove beside the tracks until I found you"
"I could never hate you"
"If you want me there, I will be there"
"I thought I lost you"
"I'm saying, I want what's best for you"
"I mean I do have your self portrait above my desk. I mean I did. I did"
"How about I start introducing you as pookie bear?"
"Have you considered Hollis collage? They have a wonderful arts program and I think you'll find the teachers very hands on"
"I can't be the one to swoop you up and comfort you, but it kills me"
"I feel worse about having to stay away from you"
"I thought about you every second I was gone"
"I want you in my life Aria, for the rest of my life. I don't ever want to let you go"
"Aria Marie Montgomery, will you marry me?"
Aria's eyes shot open and she stared back at Ezra.
"Ezra" She said in a shaky voice.
"Aria" He smiled. "Do you remember?"
"Yes, I remember everything" She laughs "I remember that I want to kiss you again"
