Aria Montgomery and her friends drifted into the classroom on the first day of school.
"Did you see the new boy?" Hanna squeals, dropping her backpack onto the floor. "People say he's really hot"
Aria rolled her eyes. She wasn't the one to focus on boys. Spencer sat down next to Hanna.
"Ahhh a new boy" She leans back against her chair and smiles.
Emily smiles at Aria, since they're both not idealizing this "hot new boy".
"Good morning class" The teacher says, writing her name on the board and turning around.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" A boy shouts as he bursts through the classroom door, waving a paper.
"May I ask who you are?" The teacher places her hands on her hips.
"I'm new" He says and the class laughs.
"Hello New" The teacher puts out her hand.
"Not new. Well I am new but my name is Ezra. Ezra Fitz" The boy talks fast and Aria for the first time, can't help but admire him.
"Hello Ezra, welcome to the class" The teacher points at the seat in front of Aria. "That's your seat"
Ezra starts making his way towards Aria.
"Wait" The teacher calls, motioning for Ezra to come back up to the front. "How about you start by telling the class about your self?"
He looked nervous as he looked out at all the students. "I'd rather not"
"Sure you would. Do you play any sports?" The teacher asks.
"No" Ezra replies "I like to read and write"
"Lame!" Noel Kahn shouts out, causing the boy to slug his shoulders.
"It's not lame!" Aria looks over at Noel. "Reading and writing help you express yourself"
"Like I said, lame!" Noel shouts again, getting laughs from his friends.
Ezra walks slowly to his seat, not making eye contact with anyone.
"Hey" Aria whispers and Ezra turns around in his seat. "Don't worry about them, they're jerks"
Ezra gives her a small smile.
"I'm Aria" She says, holding out her hand.
He takes it and nods his head. "I'm Ezra"
Aria points at Ezra's yellow shirt. "I like your shirt. My dad works there"
"Really! So does mine" Ezra exclaims.
Aria and Ezra both direct their attention back to the teacher. If you would have told them they'd fall head over heals for each other that day, they wouldn't have believed you. But destiny has its ways and it brought Ezra and Aria together.
