Finally, two sweet weeks of freedom. We all wait to aboard the large white bus while the teachers babble on about useless shit with each other.

Dani and Jakob are flirting like crazy which honestly made me gag and Maya and Chris are occupied arguing over who was the best at some game or another and typical Steph was scrolling through her tumblr feed.

"Well, I see Jakob's got his eye on someone," she whispers to me
"Sure has," I adjust my beanie "should make for an interesting camp." I say before boarding the bus. I sat beside Steph, Chris and Maya sat behind us and of course Jakob and Dani sat in the two seats across from us.

Chris being Chris opens a jumbo sized packet of marshmallows and immediately I see Stephanie's face light up with excitement.
"I fudging love you Chris!" She squeals with her hands out ready to devour them. "Calm down Charlie Brown" Maya laughs "we are saving them for the sleep out" an expression of disappointment spreads across her face.
"Who's in your cabin?" She asks suddenly,
Uh-Chris, Jake and Felix" her face turns bright pink and her jaw drops at the sound of his name, "Shut up! Oh please tell me you're joking" Felix had been Steph's long time crush since we could all remember. I'm almost certain he likes her too but he's too chicken to say anything.
"Nope he's definitely in our cabin."
"Holy shit, pinky swear?"
"Pinky swear." I laugh awkwardly, "I don't see what you even like about him?"
"Ethan I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation here! Oh shit this is bad, I look like such a dork" she laughs throwing her head back and starring at the roof of the bus.

"Chill, you look fine. Not that he would care anyways"
"Wow" she looks me dead in the eye, "thanks Ethan. It sure is great to know that nobody cares."
Well shit. She turns toward the window and begins the dreaded stage of silent treatment which she was especially good at.
"Calm down, what I meant was that I'm sure he likes you the way you are" I try to explain but... No answer. Chris leans forward in between the small space separating the seats.
"Etho you dickhead" I exhale and turn to Steph,
"come on Steph you know what I mean," I nudge her.

Nothing. Seriously it's always me that says something wrong. I huff and sink down in my seat and stare out the window. When Steph gives you silent treat,net you literally can't do anything about it.

We get off the bus as we have stopped at the halfway point. We're at some national park place. Yay. We grab a table and sit down, Jakob and Dani were laughing together and the rest of us were sort of in an awkward silence.

Jakob looks over and frowns.
"Are you guys ok, did something happen?" He asks,
"You could say that." Chris laughs and looks st Steph and I, Steph turns around the other way and crosses her arms.

I know exactly what to do. I run over to the tiny stall that they have here and buy a packet of marshmallows, Steph's favourite. I'll give them to her on the bus. Once we finished eating our lunch we just mess around and go to the playground, Steph still isn't talking to me.

"I told you she was good at it," I hear Maya whisper to Dani, she can't whisper for shit.
"Good at what," Dani says back,
"Giving silent treatment!" Maya laughs, "even though she's not giving us silent treatment it's still annoying!" Dani laughs and Jakob runs over,
"Hey Dani come on the swings with me," he squeals excitedly and they run over jumping around like three year olds.
"Young love" Maya teases.

"Oh um Maya, let's go get a drink.." Chris laughs, knowing that by him and Maya leaving it would make the situation even more awkward. I look at Steph trying my hardest to resist a smile before she starts giggling and moves to sit next to me.

"I guess I might of over reacted a tad.." She looks me in the eye with guilt
"Why do you do that?" I laugh
"What?"
"Ignore people?"
"I suppose silence speaks louder than any words" she shrugs
"Well, it works" I laugh, "So.... We're all good now?.." I say awkwardly
"Yeah, I guess" she smiles

We aren't even at camp yet and i'm already having a great time. I haven't been away from home for more than a week before so this is the first time so I'm actually so excited and I can't wait to surf. Everyone is so nice to me and I'm already so close with Maya and Steph it's so good that I'm in their cabin.

Jakob and I are currently on the swings just chatting because Maya and Chris went off somewhere and Steph and Ethan are resolving their fight they had earlier but I think they're all good now.

It was actually pretty funny, ethan tried so hard to try and get Steph to talk but she would budge, I would actually count that as a talent.

"What are your hobbies?" I ask breaking the silence, mind you it wasn't an awkward silence it was a comfortable one.
"I play Soccer for the local club and sing and stuff," he smiles "what about you?"
"I grew up at the beach so I surfed almost everyday day and I also play soccer and had tryouts a few days ago. I got in but unfortunately they don't have a girls team so I have to play on the guys team. What team are you in, i'm in the under 16's A?" I reply,
"OMG we're in the same team, we have never had a girl in our team before, I'm sure you'll be fine though!" Jakob laughs and falls off the swing which causes me to also fall of the swing from laughing so much, we just lie in the sand laughing our heads off, I'm going to have so much sand in my hair. I feel a pull on my belly button ring from the string inside my top and try to undo it showing my toned stomach, when Maya, Etho, Chris and Steph come by and smirk at us and cross their arms which sort of made me uncomfortable, I only met them like yesterday.

I stand up and brush myself off and walk towards the bus to get my drink bottle. Once I get off I take the chance to see what the others are doing after the awkward situation. I can see Jakob yelling at them, damn. I don't really want to invade so I go and sit on a bench, by myself, looking like a loner.

I don't know any other people at this school so I'll just keep it on the down low for the moment. I mean I probably seem like the weirdest person ever after my entrance on the first day. Mrs Thomas will be keeping an eye on me as well.

"Can you guys shut up?!" Jakob says angrily
"Sure" Ethan says, "when you stop the flirting or grow the balls to ask her out" he smirks adding to Jakob's frustration.
"Ethan, I swear just shut up, I met her yesterday and think she's very nice and you have to scare her off, you know how uncomfortable you made her!"
"Everyone back on the bus!" Mr Thomas yells out breaking up some of the tension.
And since Ethan was being a complete ass we decided to sit away from the others to prevent any broken noses.
"You really need to learn when to keep your mouth shut" I say, parting my long hair to either side and being braiding
"Come on Steph, that was so minor!" He smirks, "don't act like it wasn't completely and utterly hilarious" he nudges. My attempt of not laughing had failed, I just shake my head and wrap a hair tie around the bottom of my braids.

"How do you even do that?" He looks mesmerised
"Practice" I smile, "oh my god... Let me try your hair! It totally looks long enough" I giggle.
"Go ahead!" He laughs hysterically facing toward the window. It was actually working and it looked hilarious, he almost looked like a little alien. "Done!" I laugh, he opens snapchat on his phone to see himself.
"Oh My God... I love it! " he laughs snapping a picture of our twinning hair
"It suits you" I smile and giggle.

I turn around and look at Chris and Maya, they're fighting over the last kit Kat bar. Only them. I then turn to Jakob and Dani, I feel a little bad that we made her uncomfortable but Jakob didn't have to snap at us! It was pretty funny though.

As the others and I all secretly brought our phones I get my earphones out and start listening to the Beatles of course and slowly drift asleep.
