Kate POV
I woke up due to the sun's beaming rays through the blinds. I smiled, today was gonna be a new day. The restart of my business. I guess I could take advantage of the fact that it wouldn't cost me a thing, just a room. I could get it decorated how I wanted in the first place! Last time, I couldn't due to having not enough money. But this time, he couldn't object. If he did, he would get kicked out and I wouldn't drop the charges. Bliss.
I strolled down the stairs happily. I had a good night's sleep last night. No worries about not persuing my dream. Nothing. But as soon as I saw Amber, lounged on the couch, that all changes. Why did she storm upstairs without saying anything last night? What happened at the bar that she won't tell me about? Why does she have puffy eyes? I looked at the clock, 10 am. Typical. Miguel wasn't up yet. I sighed and placed myself next to Amber.
"So," I started. "Are you gonna tell me what's got you down or are you gonna act as if nothing is wrong even though something clearly is?" I asked curiously. She sighed and turned to face me. She always told me everything. Even when I was in Greece.and she was in England. Anything she needed, she would call me. And vice versa.
"It's a long story." She said.
"I've got time." I said, smiling at her. She sat up.
"It's Mason." I opened my mouth to speak but she carried on. "Turns out, he never really was dead. It was just an act so he could be protected by 'Les Holland'. He found me at the bar, told me the first thing he demanded to do when he got out of witness protection, was to come find me." She explained.
"Oh my god. So after years of being apart, he came to find you so you could be together again. Oh my that's so sweet!" I exclaimed. I realised, after seeing a tear drop from her eye, that that wasn't the case.
"He came to tell me he met someone else. This bitch called Rhiannon. Last night, I stormed to my room and threw the ring out of the window. I cried all night. I've not had a boyfriend in years because I couldn't live with the guilt. Turns out he's been alive and kissing some bitch whilst I've been here avoiding men." She said. Bless her. I wrapped my arms around her, squeezing her tightly. She pulled away after a few minutes.
"Why was Miguel here again?" She asked, sniffling slightly. I smiled sympathetically.
"He's come to help rebuild the shop, all the materials free of cost. The only catch is for him to sleep in the spare room whilst he does it and me dropping the charges against him." I explained. She smiled.
"So I don't have to work in some smelly bar for the rest of my life? You don't have to be jobless? You can persue your dream? That's so amazing oh my god!" She shreiked. I nodded. " Just do not fall for him, Miss Croston. I can tell he's a trouble maker." I saw a smile curl on her face. I was glad I asked her what was wrong first before telling her about this. It meant I could to see a smile.
Suddenly, a half naked Miguel stomped down the stairs. He took a long yawn and then slumped himself on the couch. We turned to look at him, raising a brow. He sighed and got up to go make us both a coffee, clearly taking a hint.
"Like I was saying, trouble maker." Amber stated. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs to shower.

I got changed into some scruffs then make my way into the shop where Miguel was struggling to carry a big a big plank of wood through the door. I laughed and helped him.
"Thank you." He said without looking at me. I smiled. He put the plank of wood on the counter. "So any ideas on your ideal shop?" He asked. A smile comes to my face. I dreamt about this lastnight.
