Andrew POV :
Miguel and Kate bursted in, out of breath. "We've checked everywhere we know that she goes. No where to be seen. Maybe you did something last night that could've upset her?" Kate asked worriedly. I shoom my head.
"I can't remember. I'd ask Natasha but I was too drunk to ask for her number." I replied. She sighed and slumped on the sofa trying to regain her breath. I then tried calling her again. It rang but there was no answer. Amber. Where could you be?
I decided to go to the place I usually went after an argument with someone or if I was angry to calm myself down. I used to go down here when Josh was on holiday and I had to dogsit. I.woulf walk his dog 'Bossy' down here. It was a little peaceful forest down near the local park. No one would find me there hopefully. It was so quiet, so peaceful. It always calmed me down. Sometimes on sunny days I would take my shoes off and dip my feet in the river. As feminine as it sounded, it helped to calm me down.
I ran down the steep pathway and came to a halt at the small, wooden bridge that allowed me to cross the small river. I walked halfway across it then stared into the river. I watched the dainty fishes swim in the water. The river sparkled in the sunlight that I could see my reflection it. I smiled.
I walked to the direction to where I usually sat and heard a dog barking. Fearing the worst, I ran toward the sound and found Josh there with Bossy on her leash. There sat on the floor, curled in a ball, crying her eyes out, was Amber.
I ran to her. "Amber?! Are you okay? What are you doing here?!" I asked. She looked up at me and scowled at me.
"You actually call me by my name this time? Not by 'bar maid' like you did last night?" She snapped. I furrowed my brows in confusion. Bar maid? When did I call her that? She looked up at me, her eyes filled with tears. She shook her head the quickly tucked it between her knees again.
"So you're the reason why she's like this Andrew?" Josh snapped. He tied Bossy to a tree and stormed toward me.
"No! No.. No? I don't know. I can't remember anything from last night." I exclaimed. He frowned at me.
"Too drunk to respect other people? Amber, what happened last night? Why are you here?" He asked her sympathetically. She shook her head.
"He, he, no. It's too embarrassing." She stammered and tucked her head back into her knees.
"Amber, tell me. What did I do? I want to make it better. I was drunk Amber, I can't remember anything." I said. She looked back up at me and wiped her eyes with her sleeve. She stared intently into my eyes then hastily turned to look at Josh.
"He kissed her," She mentioned. "Right, right infront of me." I saw the hurt in her facial expredsion. Josh scowled at me. So her kissing me did mean something. She liked me and I completely misread the kiss and hurt her. She had been hurt by two guys in one month. She looked down, her cheeks red. She had just admitted that my actions hurt her and now she was embarrassed. I bent down to look at her, tears dripped from her eyes. She seemed more hurt now than when she did with her ex fiancé. I stared at her for a moment, admired her eyes. The looked prettier when they weren't full of tears, pain and betrayal.
I was stopped when Josh grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet. He then, to my surprise, threw a punch to my face. I stumbled back and touched my cheek where he punched me. I could feel blood. But, to be fair, I did deserve it.
"Are you that stupid?! Even I knew she liked you and you go fuck about with her feelings? Don't you know how to respect a girl? Even if you didn't like her back you could've let her down easy, not kiss some other chick right infront of her!" He ranted at me. I sighed.
