Andrew POV :
We arrived at our hotel and we immediantly checked in.
"I reserved a room, last name Meyers?" I asked the lady at the desk. She looked at her computer and typed in my last name.
"Uh, Andrew is it?" She asked. I nodded and she handed me a key card then smiled sweetly. "Have a nice stay Mr Meyers!" She said, enthusiastically. I took the key and guided Amber to the elevator. Ever since she told me the Robbo story on the plane, she hasn't said a word to me. It was understandable. It was a pretty tough thing to just tell someone. I sighed and walked into the elevator with her closely following me. We awkwardly waited there for a few seconds whilst the elevator went up. We just stood there listening to the slow elevator music. The door opens and we strolled down to our room. I unlocked it and open the door. I frowned. There was a double bed right in the middle of the wall and at the bottom, there was a sofa.
"Uhm, Andrew? I thought you said you booked a room with 2 single beds?" Amber questioned. I huffed..
"I did! I must have not made it clear that I wanted 2 SINGLE beds, not a double and a sofa bed. Hold on, I'll go down to complain. See if we can come to an arrangment with them. You, I don't know, shower or something? Not saying that you smell, I just wouldn't risk unpacking till I get back, Okay?" She nodded and I dumped my suitcase on the bed then left the room to go to reception. How could someone mix something like that up?
"Hi, uhm, miss?" I asked. It was a different a lady at the desk this time. This one had big, back combed hair, bright red lipstick and a fake tan gone wrong by the looks of it. Why would a fancy hotel like this hire someone like that at the front desk? Aren't they supposed to look presentable instead of like they had just rolled out of a bin? She pointed a finger signaling me to wait whilst she types something. A few minutes later she looked up and smiles arrogantly.
"Hello sir, how may I assist you?" She asked, again arrogantly. I sighed.
"I have a problem with my room, I called asking specifically for 2 beds in my room. But there's only one double bed and a sofa. I thought the lady called Veronica who took my call would have common sense and assume I wanted single beds." I explained. She scowled at me, that was when I looked down at her name label and realised, she was Veronica.
"I did have common sense sir. But we're packed at the moment due to a wedding and family reunion happening tomorrow. As you called last minute, we were unable to get you a room with single beds. So I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Can I offer you a free meal at our hotel's restaurant to make up for it?" She asked, handing me and voucher for a 'Romantic Meal For Two!'. She smiled sarcastically. I took the voucher and she quickly looked back down at her computer screen then carried on typing. I sighed loudly and walked off. Great. Yes because Amber was going to want a romantic meal for two after explaining to me about her terrible ex that she rejected me for.
I felt quite selfish though. I never realised that her exes were so disgusting. When I told Josh the amount of times she'd been hurt, I only guessed due to the amount of times Kate recieved a phone call from Amber and ended up saying 'He's not worth it honey' somewhere in the call. Now I felt terrible. If I could hurt Robbo, kill him, anything to make him pay for what he did to Amber. I would. Disgusting piece of dirt.
I open the door to Amber in her skinny jeans and aztec print t-shirt, lounging on the double bed channel surfing. I looked at the direction of her suitcase. It was empty. She obviously didn't take my advice and unpacked. She heard me close the door and turned off the tv then looked up at me. I pulled an weak smile and she sighed.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to change our rooms, so I unpacked. What's that?" She asked, gesturing to the voucher in my hand. I quickly put it on the dressing table.
