"Whoa," Ron whispered to me. "I think I might be bisexual,"he snickered. I gazed at the girl.
This girl was stunning. Like, there's not enough words to describe her. She had dark brown eyes, dirty blonde with some streaks of dark brown hair that was to her waist, a deep tan, and most of all, a perfectly fit figure. She wore a tight white undershirt with a varsity football jacket and dark blue Daisy Dukes. I couldn't believe my eyes. She looked perfect in every way.
She stood alone, watching Dad talking to the leader of the Hilltop. Dad then spoke up, introducing all of us. The girl eyed us when Dad pointed at us and said our names. She gave me a little grin after I made eye contact and smiled a little at her. Then the leader guy introduced himself as Gregory, and then started pointing around to people, some did a little wave or a smile. Then, the person's name was said.
"And this is Jordan," Gregory's voice said.
I've always thought Jordan to be a boy's name, but it really fit her.
"Alright everyone, talk among yourselves," Dad said loudly. Some people in our group walked over to talk to the others. I was getting tired of standing.
Then Jordan walked over. "Hi, guys," she said warmly. She looked at my leg and attempted not to make a face, but she did. I brushed it off, since pretty much everyone else has done it too. It's not like my leg wasn't covered, it had a bandage.
"Hey," I said.
"You guys are... Carl and Ron right?" she said. We nodded.
"I'm Jordan, nice to meet you two," she stuck out her hand. I shook it.
"Nice to meet you, too," I said and smiled.
"Uh, do you need to sit down?" She said as she looked down at my leg. I nodded, remembering how exhausted I was. Ron eyed me, giving me a look that I knew read, "but I'm going to have to carry you" and I held out my arm so he could help me walk instead of being carried. So, being the best boyfriend ever, he helped me to the porch, of course slowly. Jordan had been so patient with me since she followed, just slowly walked along with us. I sat down, so relieved and let out a sigh. Ron sat down beside me, and Jordan sat herself down on the far left, beside Ron.
"This is a really nice place," she said.
"I know, right?" Ron said. He moved his arm silently and rubbed my lower back. His touch felt so nice.
"How long have you guys been here?" she asked.
I waited for Ron to answer, but he didn't, for some reason. Probably too focused on rubbing my back.
"I got here just a little while ago," I said.
"Really? How is it for all of you over here? I'm sure everyone loves it," she said. I think she's really good at talking; she can keep a conversation going.
Ron finally came back to reality. "It's amazing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," he said. I looked at him lovingly. He looked at me back the same way.
"So, who do you guys belong to? Parents?" she said. Ron put his head down.
"My Dad is Rick. He's over there, talking to Gregory," I spoke up before the silence became awkward.
"Oh, yeah, that guy. I remember him. What about you?" she nodded towards Ron.
Then, surprisingly, he spoke, before I could say anything for him.
"That's mine. Mom's over there. Dad's over there," Ron pointed to two of the people who were talking to the Hilltop people. It was Sarah and Bryan.
"Really? Huh, they don't look anything like you," she said.
"Yeah, I know. But they're my family, whether I look like them or not. I love them either way," he said. I was taken aback a little.
"That's rare. I barely see kids with both of their parents," she said. I eyed Ron. I could tell he wasn't lying when he said they were family. I know what's it's like to call someone your family even if there's no blood relation.
It was a moment of silence before Jordan spoke. "Look at the sky, it's so pretty," she said.
It was pretty. The sun was about half an hour before sunset. Even if it was, the sky was a mix of purple, blue, dark blue, pink, and yellow. A couple of white puffy clouds were in the beautiful distort of colors.
Dad walked up on the porch. "Hey, Carl, we're going to go up to the Hilltop for a while. Wanna come with? We'll be an hour or so," he asked.
"I'm just going to slow you down. I'll stay here," I said.
"Ron?" Dad asked.
He looked at me. I just shrugged my shoulders. "Uh, I don't know. What about Carl?" he said.
"Go. You can tell me what it looks like when you get back," I smiled.
"Well then, alright. I'll go," he smiled back and stood up.
"Jordan?" Dad asked.
"Maybe Carl could show me around here," Jordan said.
"Sure, I guess. I think Carl's okay enough to use crutches tonight," Dad said after some hesitation. He went into the house and brought them out.
"Bye. We'll be back soon," Dad said and headed off with Ron. This would be the first time apart from him in a while.
"Alright. Let's get a move on," I said.
