~Flashback~
Jae Eun was walking through the hallways like usual. People glaring at her, signalling to their friends to step back. It was all the same and nothing had really changed.
"Jae Eun!" a voice was heard from the other end of the hallway.
Jae Eun took a U-turn and continued walking the other way, not caring if she was late to class or not.
She heard footsteps behind her, followed by gasps from the students around.
Suddenly, an arm took her by the wrist and forced her to turn around. He was standing right there in front of her.
"What do you want?" she asked tiredly, annoyed by his presence.
"Come with me," Jungkook pulled on her wrist and forced her to follow him through the crowd of wide eyes and shock.
She was too tired to fight back, and continued walking. After a few minutes of swiftly turning corners and going through a few rooms, they ended up in a classroom, which looked as if it hadn't beed used in years.
He stopped and turned to face her. She was looking down, trying to avoid the eye contact between them.
"Look at me," he said calmly, almost comforting.
Jae Eun looked up to him slowly, finding him rubbing his forehead with his hand.
"I need you to know something,"he started. He looked deeply into her eyes.
Are you seriously going to insult me on my face?
"I'm really sorry," he apologised whilst looking down.
....
....
....
Are you serious?
Jae Eun just stared at him, completley shocked. Her jaw dropped at his statement. He looked at her and studied her face, waiting for a reaction.
The atmosphere tensed up and none of them said a word. She stared at him and he stared back at her. One she realized what was said, she snapped out of her daze and pulled her wrist away from his hand.
He noticed her action and took her by the shoulders.
"Can you forgive me, for everything that I've done to you?" he sounded so desperate....and so sincere.
She didn't know how to reply. Jae Eun hated him with all her heart and never wanted to forgive him for everything he put her through, but seeing him so desperate and helpless melted her heart.
She was so desperate for someone to talk to, that she actually accepted his apology.
"Err...Yeah," she quietly answered.
Jungkook had a huge smile on his face.
Is this actually happening right now?
"I'm glad! We can be friends now?" he held out his hand, gesturing for her to shake it.
A timid smile formed on her lips and she reached out to shake it. But as soon as she nearly touched his hand, he burst out laughing.
He laughed to his hearts content and held onto his stomach. He looked at her and pointed.
"You...actually...thought that-" he continued laughing.
Jae Eun's face dropped. He was lying?
Can't believe I actually fell for that...
She took back her hand and kept her head down low. Then, there were footsteps from all around. BTS came out laughing from behind the cupboard. A few other kingkas and queenkas laughed at her.
"This is one of the best pranks you've done!" Soo Hyun came and took Jungkook by the arm, smiling and laughing with him.
"How stupid are you? You actually thought it was real!" Another kingka laughed in her face.
Jae Eun stood there motionless. Her long, straight black hair fell over her face. Tears were swelling up and fell down her cheeks.
All she could feel was humiliation. Embarassment clouded over her. She won't be able to make friends after this. Who would want to be friends with her anyway?
She looked up at him laughing in front of her.
"You're all right...."she started. The laughter died down. "I won't make any friends...no one will know I exist. To be honest, even if I die, I'll just die alone, without anyone knowing. I won't be discovered dead and I'll be anonymous to the whole world," tears pooled in her eyes.
All of the laughter had been replaced with sympathetic eyes, except for one person.
"That's the way to think,"Jungkook approached her and patted her on the shoulder, smirking, making anger rise in her.
She bit her lip, trying to not make a sound, and stormed out of the room.
It was one of the worst days of her entire life.
~Flashback End~
Jae Eun cuddled up in a little corner next to the vending machine in the deserted lobby. It was mid night and she was sitting there for what seemed like hours.
She buried her head in her knees.
How can someones life be this miserable? There wasn't even a spark of light in this dark world for her.
"Jae Eun-ah!" a familiar voice came close to her. She shot her head up and saw her mother with her father both panting hard.
"Where were you? Why are you out of your room? Why are you crying?!" they bombarded her with questions.
"My head hurts and I wanted fresh air," she lied once again, right on there face.
"Omo...come on to your room, we'll bring you some food," they helped her up.
But she didn't want to go back to her room. What if Jungkook was still waiting there? She would be dead meat.
They walked for around 15 minutes around the hospital, trying to find there way back to her room. Once they went inside, Jungkook was no where to be seen.
Jae Eun let out a sigh of relief and sat on her bed comfortably.
"We'll call the nurses and get you something to eat," they kissed her forehead and went out of the room.
Jae Eun felt relived and lay on her bed. She scanned the room, but then her sharp eyes noticed something.
A note. It was stuck on the edge of her bed, facing her on the railing. She leaned forward to grab it.
Just give me a smile.
