Just give me a smile
~Jungkook
Jae Eun spent approximatley 5 minutes staring at the pink post it note. Without any emotion, she read it over and over again.
It angered her, but made her feel touched at the same time. She wanted to throw it away, but she also wanted to treasure it.
After contemplating over it, her parents, along with a nurse, walked into her room.
"We bought you food!" her father said cheerfully. The nurse set it down on the little table in front of Jae Eun and smiled at her.
"Eat up! You need strength if you're going to go to school in a couple of weeks time," her mother explained, patting her back and gesturing her towards the food.
Little did she know that Jae Eun dreaded to go to school. But didn't she know why Jae Eun tried to commit suicide?
"Eomma, do you know why I jumped off the building?"s he asked quietly once the nurse had left.
Her mothers face dropped and she looked down.
"A student called me and said that you were stressing over exams and school in general, so you decided to...commit...suicide," her voice cracked when she said the last few words.
Wow...such an excuse..
"Was the student a boy or a girl?" she asked, predicting the answer.
"A girl," she answered.
A girl? I thought it was Jungkook...
"Ok.." she looked at her bowl of soup and started eating.
"Eat well, okay?" her father patted her head and left the room with her mother.
"Which girl would do that?" Jae Eun thought to herself. She didn't let it bother her too much, and looked at the post-it note again.
It has to be another prank...
Jae Eun thought about all the recent events that had happened. It confused her, because she still didn't know if it was real.
Or is Jungkook still part of another dream?
She sighed and continued eating her soup. She was too tired and her head still hurt so after a few minutes of fiddling on her phone, she fell asleep.
~A week later~
"Are you sure you want to go to school?" her mother asked, reassuring herself.
"Yes, I feel fine," Jae Eun decided to go to school, not caring if everyone was the same or worse to her. It wasn't going to get better anyway.
"Ok, I'll prepare some breakfast for you," and with that, she was left alone in her room.
She put on her uniform and a bit of light makeup. She tried to look decent for her first day of school after maybe 2 weeks.
She took her bag and walked down the stairs. Her mother put some pancakes on the table and handed her a mug of coffee.
"Eat up, you'll concentrate better in school," and smiled at her.
"Ok eomma," she brightly smiled and dug in. After she was finished, she headed out of the door.
"Do you want someone to drop you off?" her mom asked.
"I'm fine, I'll walk," she waved and walked out of the door.
As soon as the door closed, she took in a deep breath, and like usual, walked to school with her earphones in and her head low.
After 20 minutes, she reached the gates of the school. Some people ignored her and some glared.
The same like it always was. Now she just had to face BTS and Jungkook. As she was walking to her class, she stopped at her locker and opened it, expecting rubbish to be falling out.
But surprisingly, her locker was clean and it looked as if her textbooks were all replaced. Everything was in it's place and it was like a normal locker.
She took out one of her textbooks, and continued walking to her class. She saw no sign of BTS and people didn't really insult her, but some did shoot glares at her.
I guess they became bored of me...
In a way, it felt good that she wouldn't be bothered, but it felt worse that she was completley invisible.
No one would become her friend and they would still treat her unfairly indirectly.
She sat at her desk at the back of the class and flicked through her textbook. Once she got to the chapter she had missed out studying, a post-it note sat on the page.
Another one?
Fill in the blanks and leave it on your desk
I was too _____to become your ____ so I became a _____.
~GMJ
What? Is this some kind of joke? Who is GMJ?
She left the post-it note on the side of the desk and read a few paragraphs of her textbook. Once the lesson started, there were no scrunched up balls of paper being thrown at her.
Jae Eun didn't expect it, so she took the chance to concentrate. But one thing bothered her.
She kept taking glances at the post-it note and curiosity filled her mind.
Who would do that? Ain't this kind of out-of-the-blue?
She looked up and saw Suga at the other end of the class staring at her. After she caught him, he looked away and fiddled with the pages in his book.
?
?
?
Okay. Wait...was he the one who left it in my locker? Does he want the answer?
As soon as the lesson ended, she was bugged so much by the note that she scribbled her thoughts onto it and left.
It was the first words to come to her mind.
I was too annoyed by your presence to become your acquaintance so I became an enemy.
As soon as she left the class, he picked up the post-it note and read the filled in blanks. He felt tears swell up in his eyes.
This is how she thinks?
He took the post-it note and left the class.
I'll make you change your mind soon, Jae Eun..just watch.
