Chapter 20

It was only 6:00pm, and they all were starting to die out. Hye Mi had decided to get everyone a coffee, and we all agreed. Soo Hyun was working on the sculpture with Hye Mi from time to time, and then started bothering Jungkook.

Jae Eun had about 4 pages of notes down and handed them to Jungkook to add to the presentation, but whenever she did, he would make unnecessary contact with her hand. When she looked at him, he would pretend nothing happened.

"I'm so worn out!" Soo Hyun exclaimed, sitting back in the chair, fanning herself.

"You've barely done anything! What are you even talking about?" Hye Mi challenged, slamming her hands down on the table.

Soo Hyun glared at her, and she returned the look. Jae Eun and Jungkook sat there, watching the scene.

Jae Eun took a hold of her wrist, which was starting to cramp up from all the writing she was doing. Jungkook noticed her gesture and stood up.

"Guys, we need a break," he announced, making everyone agree and nod their heads.

It was silent and the tension in the air clouded over them...until someones stomach rummbled. 

Omg.. 

Jae Eun placed her hand over her stomach, which was viciously attacking her insides, asking for food. Jungkook stiffled a laugh and sat next to her.

"Do you want food?" he asked, grinning at her.

"No..." and her stomach rummbled again. "Yes.." she was embarassed and looked down to her empty belly.

"I'm going to go and buy some ramen or something," he added, stading up again. 

"Oooh! I'm coming!" Soo Hyun shot up, and took a hold of his arm. 

"Whatever," he mummbled, not enjoying the company he was getting. They walked out of the library, and that left Jae Eun and Hye Mi together, awkwardly facing each other.

"Uhh...soo..." Hye Mi started off. "How's school?" she asked, knowing the answer was stupidly obvious. 

"Umm,"  

"You don't need to answer that," she quickly added.

After sitting for moments in silence, Hye Mi felt uneasy. "Sorry," she said, making Jae Eun look up at her.

"Huh?" Jae Eun was too dazed and lost in a trance to actually pay attention.

"I'm sorry, for leaving you alone," she quietly said, looking down, shame clouding over her.

"Um...I get it, soo, no need to worry," she chuckled uneasily, earning a shocked look from Hye Mi.

"Are you sure?" she asked, making Jae Eun contemplate her decision.

"Yeah," 

"Friends again? Best friends?" Hye Mi reached her hand out for her to shake.

"Sure," she smiled at her, but as they were shaking it, Hye Mi pinched her on her hand, 

And..

It didn't hurt...

No, wait, this reminds me of something...

~Flashback~

"Can you forgive me, for everything that I've done to you?" he sounded so desperate....and so sincere.

She didn't know how to reply. Jae Eun hated him with all her heart and never wanted to forgive him for everything he put her through, but seeing him so desperate and helpless melted her heart.

She was so desperate for someone to talk to, that she actually accepted his apology.

"Err...Yeah," she quietly answered.

Jungkook had a huge smile on his face.

Is this actually happening right now?

"I'm glad! We can be friends now?" he held out his hand, gesturing for her to shake it.

A timid smile formed on her lips and she reached out to shake it. But as soon as she nearly touched his hand, he burst out laughing.

He laughed to his hearts content and held onto his stomach. He looked at her and pointed.

"You...actually...thought that-" he continued laughing.

Jae Eun's face dropped. He was lying?

Can't believe I actually fell for that...

She took back her hand and kept her head down low. Then, there were footsteps from all around. BTS came out laughing from behind the cupboard. A few other kingkas and queenkas laughed at her.

"This is one of the best pranks you've done!" Soo Hyun came and took Jungkook by the arm, smiling and laughing with him.

~Flashback End~

"You thought that it was real?" Hye Mi smirked at her, leaving Jae Eun in darkness again.
