It was 3:30. One hour and thirty minutes away from their meeting. Jae Eun sat in class, fiddling with her pen, not paying attention to the teacher.

The class was going so slow, it felt as if she had been sitting there for hours but it had only been thirty minutes. She kept on taking glances at the clock, to check the time, and the handles weren't moving.

Jae Eun slumped back in her chair, and closed her eyes, waiting for the time to pass.

"Jae Eun! What did I just say right now?!" the teacher called out her name, alerting her, as well as startling her.

Quickly sitting up in her chair, she looked at the teacher, who was glaring at her.

"Well..." the teacher provoked.

"Uhhh," Jae Eun looked on the board to see if the answer was there, but it was blank.

She glanced around the class and her eyes set on Jungkook. He was holding his textbook up, and it had huge words written on it.

DECLARING INDEPENDANCE IN 1948.

Bingo.

She read the words and said it to the teacher who was still glaring at her.

"You were talking about how South Korea had declared their independance in 1948," she answered profesionally.

"Oh. Uh. Yeah. That's correct," the teacher was flustered and continued with the class.

Jungkook turned around and smirked at her, mouthing the words, "You owe me,"

Jae Eun just looked away and didn't reply. He turned his head back around, looking at the teacher.

And by the end of that, the class was over.

~Time Skip~

For almost an hour, Jae Eun walked around the school, went to the cafe to get a coffee and walked back to school. There was still 20 minutes to spare, so she walked to her secret hideout in the abandoned classroom.

Pulling out her book, she continued reading, whilst taking sips of her coffee. It was relaxing, losing herself in a book whilst not worrying about anything else.

But after a few minutes, the door was opening, interrupting her break. She snuggled into the corner, trying to see who it was through the little crack of the cupboard door.

A familiar figure walked in, whislt standing near the window. Jae Eun didn't move, making her presence unnoticed. The figure opened up the window, and let the fresh air, brightening up the room.

He started to speak.

"What do I do?" he was mumbling to himself, but Jae Eun could still make out what he was saying.

"She's never going to trust me," he was so hurt, it was apparent in his voice.

Jae Eun, without looking at his face, knew who it was straight away.

Jungkook.

He was so desperate, and hurt and sincere, it melted her internally. How can someone be so sincere? How can Jungkook be so sincere?

She hated herself for running away that day, but still felt that he deserved it. She waited for a while, and he walked out of the classroom, quietly closing the door.

Jae Eun huffed loudly, feeling burdened. Should she forgive Jungkook or not? Should she wait and see if she can trust him?

She put the book back into her bag, and walked to the library. It was exactly 5 on the dot, and they all were present there.
