Janes POV:
I don't understand why I have to be with everyone every minute of everyday! I would much rather go into the library and read all day. Now instead I have to go into town and pretend to be interested in the history of the town which I have known about since I could read!I go upstairs and pretend to be getting ready even though I know I'm just going to keep what I am wearing. I hear a knock on my door and Mama enters.
Mama: Jane darling are you getting ready?
I nod and pretend to fix my hair.
Mama: Jane is everything ok? You've been very quiet since Adam arrived.
Jane: Honestly I'm fine I just don't know why I am always being forced to be with the family every second of the day, I love you all but I would like to be alone sometimes.
I see mama think for a minute and then turn back to me.
Mama: Jane, we just want Adam to feel as welcomed as we can in our home and that includes everyone playing their part, couldyou just pretend to have a good time today? I promise the minute we get home you can read in the library by yourself until dinner.
I sigh and then nod.
Mama: Alright, well I think that we should make our way downstairs don't you?
I nod and follow mama downstairs where everyone is waiting.
Papa: There you two are, we were wondering if you were coming at all.
We both smile and we all walk out the front door and start walking to town.
The whole way to town I kept having to talk because Mama kept asking open ended questions so I would have to talk.
Mary: You know Adam, Jane has read almost every book in our library so she knows a lot about history, you could ask her any question about history and she would tell you.
Adam: Is that right? Well I hope that sometime you could tell me more about what you have learned, I am dreadful with history though I enjoy it.
Mama: I'm sure she would love to.
I nod and put on a fake smile.
Once in town Adam splits off for a few minutes to post his letters and that gives my older sisters time to pull me aside and annoy me.
Edith: Jane why are you being so quiet?
Mary: Yes, why are you acting like you are having a dismal time?
Sybil: Adam just wants to get to know you, you were not this way when we first met Matthew.
Jane: Well Matthew is a different person isn't he!?
This seemed to take them all by surprise, I rarely yelled when I was angry, yes I was a loud energetic stain but I seldom yelled out of spite or anger.
Just then Isabelle walked over to our little circle.
Isabelle: Adam is back so we are going to head over to the old mill.
Mary: Slrught Isabelle we will be right there.
Isabelle smiled and nodded and walked away.
Edith: Just try to enjoy the day.
I nod and we all walk back over to the group
