Lord Grandthams POV:
After dinner, the ladies went through and Adam, Matthew and I stayed behind for cigars and brandy.Lord Grandtham: So Adam, what do you think of the house? I hope it is to your liking.
Adam: You are much to kind Robert the house is stunning, I have never seen one like it before.
Matthew: I remember when I first came here I was so intimidated by the lavish house and the beauty inside and out.
Lord Grandtham: Well I hope you were not intimidated Adam.
Adam: More in awe.
I chuckled and took another puff of my cigar.
Lord Grandtham: Well if you don't find this being to forward I think that the girls have taken quiet a shine to you.
I see Adam smile uncomfortably
Adam: Well, not all of them.
Matthew: What do you mean? They were practically fighting over you at dinner.
Adam: Well I have not talked to your youngest at all.
Lord Grandtham: Jane? Hmm that's quiet odd, she is usually the one dancing around the living room to entertain us all.
Matthew: Indeed, in fact last week I remember she did a scene from Romeo and Juliett all by herself.
Adam: Indeed, which scene?
Matthew: I believe it was, the balcony scene.
Adam: My my, that is quiet the scene to preform by ones self.
Lord Grandtham: Which is why I am so surprised by her absents, we'll never you mind I'm sure that once we go through she will be the little chatterbox she always is.
I see Adam nod and we walk into the sitting room to join the ladies.
Janes POV:
I was singing one of my favorite tunes for Mama, Mary, Edith, Sybil, Granny and Isebelle when I heard Papas voice getting closer and closer, so I stop singing and sit quietly in a seat next to Sybil.Mama: Why did you stop darling? That was wonderful.
Just then the men all walked in and took their places in the room with their Brandt's still in hand.
Granny: Well, I think that mystery is solved.
Matthew: Jane, was that you I heard singing just now?
Jane: Uh-
Sybil: Yes it was, isn't she a beautiful singer?
Matthew: Yes indeed, I new you could act and play piano but I had no notion of your singing, could you sing something for the silly men who missed it for the love of cigars?
I saw all of the men staring at me, normally I would have jumped up like a jack rabbit and started but it was Adam who gave me pause.
Papa: Come now darling, can't you sing once more for your dear Papa at least?
I see everyone staring at me and finally get up,
Jane: Edith, would you mind playing piano?
Edith smiles and nods and takes her place behind the piano and I start to sing.
Adams POV:
I see Edith take her seat at the piano and then....Jane starts to sing.I have never heard anything as beautiful and pure in my entire life. I could not take my eyes off of her. Every note she sang was like a heavenly chord strung by a harp.
I knew in that moment that this was someone who I needed in my life
