Janes POV:
After breakfast I headed back up into my room where Anna was waiting with proper outside attire.Jane: Hello Anna
Anna: Hello me Lady, I trust your breakfast was to your liking
Jane: It was thank you.
Anna: Lady Mary sent for me to pick out some proper outside attire for you, I hope I chose well.
I look down on the bed and see my favorite pink hat with the white and pink roses seen to the top and my pink gloves that go with my powder pink dress.
I smile and look back up at Anna who stands waiting for my approval.
Jane: You have done very well Anna thank you.
Anna smiles and dresses me for my day with Mary.
Once I'm dressed and ready I meet Mary at the front door where she is standing and smiling, it's always odd to see Mary smiling.
Mary: My don't you look nice darling.
She tucks her hand under my chin and smiles once more and then we walk out towards the gardens.
Jane: So Mary, how are things going with Cousin Matthew? Any progress.
Mary: Well now the problem in having is trying to convince him I'm not a complete monster as I was to him when he first arrived.
Jane: Well, you were quite hard on him.
Mary: Well can you blame me? He was a nobody from nowhere, I had never met him before and he was going to be the one to pocket my inheritance, it's not exactly fair.
Jane: But it's not his fault, you know he didn't want the money, I think he is just afraid of you now.
I laugh and Mary chuckles.
Mary: Well maybe you should just teach me to be nicer then.
She punches my cheek like she did when I was little.
Mary: What about you darling, any sisters you like?
Jane: Arnt I a little young for a suitor?
Mary: There is still no harm in looking, when I was your age I had danced with half the young men in the village.
Jane: Well there is the difference between you and I, I'm a bit shyer then you are.
Mary: Shy!? You have never been shy a day in your life! Half the time you come down to dinner singing or whistling til you sit at the table.
She laughs and I chuckle.
Jane: I mean I am shy around young men, and what makes you think any of them would fancy me anyway?
Mary stops in her tracks and bends down to my level.
Mary: Why would any of them fancy you? Because you are sweet, charming, you care about other people and you are terribly funny, that's why. Now I don't want to hear anymore talk about young men not liking you.
She smiles at me and I smile back.
Once back near the house Thomas sets up a table and chairs for the two of us and we sit down to tea and watch the sun dip lower in the sky.
Jane: This was a splendid idea Mary, thank you, I truly had a wonderful time.
We smile at one another and sip our tea and eat our sandwiches.
By the time we got back to the house the dressing Hong had been rung so we both head into our rooms to get ready.
Mary's POV:
Once I was in my room I rang for Anna who came in like a shot with my dress all ready and ironed and the proper jewlery laid out.
