Downstairs, no ones POV:
The day the family went out for a picinic all the servants were tidying up the house which they got more time for since the family was out.

Mrs. Hughes: Alright, all of the maids I want you to make sure all of the bedrooms are tidy and that the living room and dining room are flawless, Anna I'll have you take some maids into the front area of the house.

Anna: Yes Mrs. Hughes.

All of the maids make their way upstairs, meanwhile Mrs. Patmore and the kitchen maids are already preparing dinner.

Mrs. Hughes: So, what do you have planned for the night?

Mrs. Patmore: A beet salad to start, then an onion tart soup, beef Wellington and a lemon custard for desert.

Mrs. Hughes: Well done, I'll leave you to it then.

And with that Mrs. Hughes turns and walks into Mr. Carsons office.  As she walks in she sees Mr. Carson pouring out the wine into a lovely glass to serve at dinner.

Mrs. Hughes: Have you picked out something nice?

Mr. Carson: I believe so, how is everything else going?

Mrs. Hughes: Everythubg seems to be under control.  So, what do you think of this Lord Redmond?

Mr. Carson: I find him a bit odd.

Mrs. Hughes: Odd?

Mr. Carson: Odd

Mrs. Hughes: Might I inquire as to why you gel this way?

Mr. Carson: He seems to be sniffing after Lady Jane and she is only 16 after all and he must be Lady Mary's age.

Mrs. Hughes: Well, you know how young men are, and besides Lady Jane is quite the beauty and very kind at that.

Mr. Carson: I know that Lady Jane happens to be your favorite, and don't try to deny it, we all have our favorites.

Mrs. Hughes smiles and nods at this comment.

Mr. Carson: Well I better go and make sure William and Thomas are taking care of everything.

Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes head up the stairs together but part ways to check on their staff.  Mr. Carson sees Thomas and William clearing trays away from breakfast and setting new ones up for dinner that evening.

Mr. Carson: Everything going smoothly?

Thomas: Why yes Mr. Carson, in fact I think we are done.

Mr. Carson: I will tell you when you are done, but yes it seems you have quiet finished, down stairs both of you, go to luncheon and we will all talk about this evenings dinner.

The whole staff then walks downstairs to take their lunch of turkey sandwiches and lemon cookies.

Mr. Carson: So, have all of you prepared for the dinner tonight?

Thomas: What is there to prepare for?  It's just the family and that Lord.

Mr. Carson: His name is Lord Redmond Thomas and you will call him as such, I mean to say is everyone's uniforms smart and have you all taken care of the jobs that are expected of you?

Everyone at the table nods and Mr. Carson nods.

Mr. Carson: Very good, now I expect they will be arriving soon so everyone eat and then prepare for their arrival.

Everyone starts to talk amongst themselves.

Anna: So, what does everyone think of this Lord Redmond?

Gwen: I think he's quiet dashing don't you Anna?

Anna: Quiet dashing indeed, have you noticed that he seems quiet taken by lady Jane?

O'brian: Well that is just disgusting.

Gwen: Why?

O'brian: He's lady Mary's age, she's 16!  That's wrong that is.

Gwen: We all know you have a soft spot for Lady Jane.

Mrs. Patmore: Well who dosbet have a soft spot for lady Jane?  She is the baby of house after all.

Mrs. O'brisn: I'm just saying that his lordship should be taking care of it is all I'm saying.

Mrs. Hughes: I think his lordship knows what to do about his own daughter o'brian.

And with that, the conversation had ended.
