Chapter 20 ~ A whole lot of crying & hugs

~Friday Afternoon~

"You'll be fine, Muffin." Logan says placing a sweet kiss on my lips. I nod and give him a small smile before hopping, well tripping, out of the car. Logan chuckled but I sent him a glare causing him to stop. He gave me one last wave before speeding off down the road.

"You can do this," I muttered to myself. "You'll be fine."

I reluctantly walked into Starbucks and spotted my mother sitting near the back in old jeans and a t-shirt with her brown hair in a messy ponytail with no trace of makeup on. Just like old times, before my father died. I sighed sadly and walked over to her.

"Hi." I whispered taking a seat in the booth across from her. She smiled but I saw the pain through her smile.

"Hi. I got you a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows." She said softly. A hint of a smile played on my lips, my favorite.

"Haydee, I'm so so sorry, I hope you know that." She started, her eyes tearing up. "I know I have been a horrible parent , and I hate myself for how I treated you." She hiccuped, she looked so sad, so broken. "I hope you know I love you so much, I always have but when your father died a part of me died to and.. and" She paused sobbing. I couldn't stand to my mother like this. I got up and wrapped my arms around her. "Please forgive Haydee, please." She pleaded.

Tears were also streaming down my face by now. "I forgive you mom, I love you so much." I said. We were getting a few strange looks from people around us but we ignored them and continued hugging each other.

"Oh thank god, I don't know what I would of done if you didn't." My mother said holding my face in her  gentle hands in a loving way. "I love you so much, okay?" She repeated.

"I love you so much too mom." I said giving her a small smile.

"Ahem, here are your uh drinks." A waitress interrupted us looking awkward. I smiled at her and thanked her.

I moved back to sitting across from my mother and took a sip of my wonderful hot chocolate.

"Who are you living with? I went home and you weren't there and most of your stuff was gone." My mother asked taking a sip of her coffee.

I blushed. "Just a friend." I muttered taking another sip. My mother raised an eyebrow.

"Does this friend happen to be a boy?" She quizzed. I nodded blushing.

"He uh he is kinda my boyfriend now." I said quietly.

"That's great honey, when do I get to meet him?" She asked smiling.

"Um soon." I replied smiling.

"I hope you can come live with me again, if you want to of cause." She suggested hopefully.

"I'd love too." I said grabbing her hand from across the table squeezing it reassuringly.

2 Hours later

"Hmm Muffin, what are you making?" I heard Logan say from behind me as he wrapped his muscled arms around my waist nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck.

I grinned. "Lasagna." I said putting another layer of pastry in the tray.

"How'd it go with your mom?" He asked, his breath fanning my neck.

"Really well actually, she asked me to go stay with her again." I said and felt him tense. He removed his face from my neck and his arms from around my waist. I sighed missing the warmth of his body.
