One black stiletto, a brown leather belt, a glass figurine, and several other useless junk. Those were the few items that did not make the trip from small town Woodland Mills, California to even smaller town Raven Grove, Washington. I have moved three times in my whole life and I was certain that each and every time, miscellaneous items seemed to disappear during the tedious process. I was not sure how it happened but it did and it just could not be helped.

Walking around the house, I inspected every room and corner. We had spent the majority of the day cleaning and unpacking, and between the two of us we had finished just in time for dinner.

"I'm in love with this house, but we have no kind of privacy. It's like one giant glass box," Scarlett commented, coming down the stairs. Her blonde hair was up in a very messy bun and she wore ratty clothes but they did nothing to mask the twinkling eyes and wide grin that contributed to her flawless beauty.

"Only in the daytime. There's a setting button so we can adjust the windows anytime; that way we can see out but no one can see in" I told her, collecting a couple of empty boxes that were lying around.

"Okay, I just don't want to wake up staring into the eyes of Jason or some wild animal," Scar told me.

"Doubtful, there's nothing out there but beautiful nature" I retorted, laughing lightly.

"Yeah, sure. You keep thinking that. But that's what all the stupid girls in the movies think before they end up being dragged away with half a body," Scar retorted.

"Oh my god, you need to stop watching those scary movies. They're making you paranoid. And the only thing or person I should be scared of is not out there but in here, you" I told her laughing.

"That was one time," she cried out, defending herself.

I laughed, remembering that "fateful" morning. It was the Friday of our graduation. We had decided that I would come over to get ready with Scar. Upon walking into her room, I saw she was still asleep. Although knowing Scar is not a morning person, I decided to give her a loud wake up call.  I had ripped the covers off of her as soon as I saw her body engulfed under the covers and  jumped on top of her, screaming "wake up". Immediately, she shot out of bed with a green sleeping mask on her  face and was pissed as shit. She didn't even give me a chance before she started throwing random junk, including a book or two. In our graduation photos, you can almost make out a faint blue bruise on my left cheek.

"And it was your fault. You disturbed my sleep. After knowing me for almost 16 years you should've known you'd get attacked," Scar explained to me.

"Yeah, whatever. Let's go get ready, I want to check out the town and we can get dinner," I suggested as I went upstairs.

Stripping off my clothes, I stepped into the shower and washed off today's dust, grime, and sweat. I even washed and deep conditioned my hair. Afterwards, I blow dried the dark waves and styled it into a lose french braid. Satisfied I did my make-up then proceeded to my closet to get dressed. I had a tendency to be obsessive compulsive, which was why my closet was color and style coordinated. My closet was not spilling with clothes so I never had to spend long trying to decide what I wanted to wear. I chose a white, thin strapped, v neck tunic and ankle skinny jeans. I paired the two with a black bralette and strappy sandals. Spraying a few spritz of body spray, I grabbed my tote and went downstairs. I had to wait another five minutes before Scar came down dressed in a white off the shoulder shirt, white shorts, and black ballet flats that tied up around her ankles. Her hair fell loose down her shoulders.

"Very casual but nice," She complimented me.

"Same to you hot stuff," I replied as we walked out the house.
