"So it's gonna be forever or it's gonna go down in flames. You can tell me when it's over hmmph, if the high was worth the pain. Got a long list of ex lovers, they'll tell you I'm insane. Cause you know I love the players, and you love the game," I sang at the top of my lungs to Bruce as I danced on top of the couch.
The tiny little creature slithered around my hand, squeezing tightly as its beady black eyes stared at me. I continued onto the next verse. I woke up as usual, happy and ecstatic but today for some reason I was glowing. That reason probably had to do with my new boyfriend. It was weird saying that. Boyfriend. I'd known him all of one month, made out with him three times, and only knew the basics about him yet I feel as if we've been together for years. Either way, I was love sick and people were really getting fed up with me. By people, I mean Angry Annie.
"Fuck, shut up. Your voice worse than a cat scratching a chalk board," Scar snapped at me as she stopped at the bottom of the stairs on the way to the kitchen. She hadn't dressed or showered and if I had to take a lucky guess, she probably hadn't even brushed her teeth yet. She looked like death with her hair sticking in all directions, red eyes caked in last night's unwashed makeup, and voice thick as morning fog.
"Someone isn't in a good mood today," I spoke quietly to Bruce so grumpy pants wouldn't hear me. I hopped off the couch and slid across the waxy, hardwood floor to the kitchen. I ended up slipping and falling right on my ass. Scar found that quite hilarious, that is until my grip loosened around Bruce and he escaped my throbbing fingers.
"OH MY GOD ITS LOOSE," Scar yelled at the top of her lungs, climbing on top of the counter. She looked absolutely insane. I had to roll onto my back to laugh. It was so hysterical even AJ who had come rushing down the stairs was cracking up.
"GET IT. OH MY GOD, CAN IT CLIMB? WHERE IS IT?" Scar gasped hyperventilating. I was too weak to even breathe let alone to search for my completely harmless snake so AJ grabbed the little rascal who was making a break for the sliding doors that led outside.
"Come down, I got him," AJ said, holding Bruce tightly.
"Put him back. Now," Scar snapped angrily as she waited for AJ to leave to climb down.
"That was great," I gasped, finally calming down.
"I hope it constricts your neck one day," Scar told me angrily as she began making coffee.
"You are such a bitch in the morning," I told her, standing up and dusting off my light skinny jeans.
"Tell me something I don't know," She replied.
"Oh my god, he's by your foot," I stated evily. Racing up the stairs, I laughed manically as Scar screamed furiously at my heartless joke. I was still chuckling as I pulled on my Jordans and Nike sweatshirt and even ten minutes later as I pulled out of the driveway with AJ in the passenger seat.
"Can I get my license?" AJ asked as we drove down the deserted roads.
"Why?" I asked him suspiciously. "You never wanted one before."
"Well, it'll be easier for me to just wake up and leave and not have to wait for you. You wouldn't have to wake up so early to take me either," AJ replied.
"Bullshit," I called out.
"I'm serious. I want my own car to just drive around in," AJ told me seriously.
"You're still on punishment. You're an emotionally, depressed, drug using, cutter. You'll use the car to skip school, smoke drugs in, and do God knows what else," I explained to him.
"Not true, I haven't smoked in a while," AJ defended.
"Lies, I smell cannabis every time you come from the bathroom. I watch you like a hawk buddy," I told him. "Until you prove to me your stable, these car rides are going to be the only thing you look forward to at eight in the morning."
