2.4. The Twist of Fate

"Oh, dear...  How are you?" Molly asked. 

I really don't know what to say. I just let her hug me and let me in.

Everyone was inside the room. Asher was holding his guitar, Yohan was busy in front of the television, Sky and Aimee are cuddling in the corner. My eyes roamed around but didn't found him.

Asher first saw me, he announced, "Zu?"

They all look at the same direction, they all looked at me. I could see longing and excitement in their eyes. No hate nor displeasure.

They all stood up and excitedly went towards our direction. Aimee first hugged me tight. Sky couldn't believe what he was seeing and hugged me still. Yohan poked my cheeks and Asher laughed. They both laughed.

They were obviously happy I was there. But I couldn't still find the exact words of all that's happening in front of me. I just smiled for all the dumbness inside my head now.

And then, the door of the other room opened. Ivan went out still busy adjusting the watch in his wrist.

I never dreamed of this but right at this very moment I thought I was dreaming.

He's more handsome now. He had grown a little from the last time I saw him but still possessed the body of a demi-god. His raven black hair was in a clean cut, gone was any trace of the rugged messy hair. And then his brown eyes meet mine.

I knew I saw a lot of things from that one look. And I knew too he saw a lot of things from that one look of mine.

So I had to look away.

Before he could asked why I was there, I found a way to my words.

I smiled casually and said, "Good morning, everyone. I'm Azura Hernandez from CitaDel and I'll be accompanying you in your stay here. Welcome to the Philippines, Mr. Ivan Del Valle West."

I handed him my hand. He shake it and said, "Please, drop the formalities, Zu... For old times' sake." And then he dropped my hand.

I'm starting to hate old-times-sake and almost cursed myself. Good thing, I didn't stutter.

"I told my mother she don't have to send anyone to accompany us. We could manage," he added and sat on the couch.

"Hey! Don't be such a kill-joy, Ivan!" Aimee exclaimed.

I smiled and added, "Actually, my boss should be the one accompanying you but she got stuck in Cebu. So, I'm kinda like her replacement."

"She should be stuck there forever, this is just perfect!" Yohan exclaimed. We all laughed.

"Call this coincidence or what?" Sky added.

"This is fate," Asher said while smiling.

I smiled to all of them but didn't looked at Ivan.

"This is fate," I repeated Asher's words.

It seem like a sick joke to me.

But it was true. I was back to being with Vain again. I was back to being Ivan's personal assistant. Hindi naman talaga personal assistant pero parang ganun na rin. After I report in V&V, kailangan kong samahan ang Vain kahit saan sila pumunta.

It was really weird that their treating me so casually like nothing really happened. Not that I was not happy but I expected something different from them. I really could feel how happy are they to see me again after a long time. I was happy too. 

"Know what, its really weird seeing you with a short hair," reklamo ni Aimee.

"Yeah. Gone was my silky straight long hair. Do I really look weird with my hair?" I asked her.
