After skating for a while, we sat back down and talked about our interests. Apparently, we have a lot more in common than I thought.. We both skateboard (obviously), were the same age, and we both like the same movies. How about that?
We get to our next class. Surprisingly, it's welding. Back when my dad was alive, we would weld in his garage almost every weekend, making a bunch of stuff. We had a blast back then.. Why did he have to go?
As always, I rely on my artistry skills to easily weld a rose into the metal. I go to check on Jason's project, and it's a microphone. A nice one, too.
-Nice project, Jason, I say.
-Thanks, he answers. I've always loved singing, I would sing at the top of my lungs with my sister. Pop to country, it didn't matter. Until she passed.. I haven't been able to sing since.
I sit there, speechless. He lost a loved one, just like I have. I can't believe it..

*JASON'S POV*
So here's the story about my sister. She was a younger sister, I loved her so much. We would sing together, hang out together, we would make jokes, music.. Until the day we found out she had cancer. At 11 years old. That's when my heart shattered. Although she still had a while left, I felt like she was disappearing right before my eyes. Two years passed, and after all of the suffering, she passed away. After that, I just wasn't the same anymore.
Earlier today, I was thinking about the dance coming up in three weeks. I was thinking if I should ask Ash to go with me, it would be my first time going, because nobody really talks to me in this school.. But I doubt it.

*ASH'S POV*
I was walking in the halls, and I noticed a poster on the pin board at the end of the hall, it says: 'School Dance! Boy ask girl. Friday September 26, 6-12 PM.'
But it's a 'Boy ask girl' sort of dance. I've always hated those.. But I still wondered: Should I ask Jason to the dance? This is my first year here, so I think I would be coming on too strong. But still, it's worth a shot.
