with a halo burning over his head
it shows the angel he really is.
he has velvet soft skin
the kind that would make you jealous to the touch.
shooting stars filling up his heart
and he may not realize it
but he has a galaxy burning within him
and stardust floating through his veins.
music notes replace his words
and suddenly he's speaking in verses
he's the only thing i want to hear and
the only thing i'll listen to.
his eyes speak in that foreign language
that i've come to know so well.
we place our broken hearts
in the hands of one another,
both of us brave
both of us strong.
i write my poems in scarlet ink.
he captures his art in a frame.
but somehow we love in the same way
[with half shut eyes, and a cup half empty]
