Regina's pov:It's already Monday, the weekends passed like a blur probably because i spent most of it in the studio painting my heart out. And now, here i am, after two days of not talking to anyone, i'm surrounded with people at school, people who i would do anything to stay away from.
I didn't know why i was feeling frustrated ever since the last fight i had with Zachary, i keep on rewinding the words he said to me, and what really scared me was the fact that they actually hurt, every single word he threw at me, cut me deep and it was weird since we're enemies, i should not be that affect by his words but i was, and that killed me.
Shaking my head lightly, i grabbed my first period's book before slamming the locker shut to be surprised by a grinning Max. "Hey!"
"Shit! You startled me Max." I gasped, placing my hand over my heart. With a chuckle and a shrug from him, he offered to walk me to my classroom.
"Did you hear the latest news?"
"If it's about me then i think you should not bring it up, i'm sick and tired of peoples criticism." I waved my hand dismissively. What i said was the truth, i'm just so sick and tired of people talking shit about me.
Max gave me a comforting smile as if to say he knew exactly what i was thinking about and going through. "Well, if fools or sages dare to criticise don't blame urself too much, right?"
My head snapped to meet his eyes, a smirk playing on my face. "I see what you did in there mister." I poked him on the side as he laughed. The words he said were actually a quote from my most favorite book 'This side of paradise_ by F. Scott Fitzgerald.'
"Let's just say i was curious to know what drew you to that book so i read it." He shrugged. "And by the way i really enjoyed it." He added. "Anyways, back to our subject, the news i have are not about you."
"Okay, enlighten me then."
"Hold your breath because it's pretty insane." He grinned like a Cheshire cat, a glint of happiness and amusement twinkling in his eyes.
I groaned pushing him playfully. "Just tell me, Max."
"Okay, Ron and Roxy are actually dating!" He exclaimed.
"Finally." I raised my hands as i rolled my eyes. I can't believe they're together, it looks like my words affected Ron and gave him a bust of confidence to admit his feelings for Roxy. Thinking that i indirectly helped with reuniting two people who love one another gave me a feeling of happiness.
"I know, it's insane-- wait, why don't you seem surprised? It's like you were expecting it." He stopped making me stop as well and look back at him to find him giving me a suspicious look.
"I was expecting it, it's pretty obvious that they have feelings for one another, it was high time for them to confess that to each other."
"Hmm and i used to think i'm the most observant one in our circle." He spoke jokingly, nudging me lightly."Oh you are, you are the most observant one among us." I pointed out, patting his shoulder as he chuckled.
"Alright then, we'll talk later." Max said once we reached to my classroom. "See ya." He winked, giving me a side hug before walking away, nonetheless, i stopped him from doing so by getting a grip on his wrist.
"I should thank you, Max." I offered him a warm smile which he returned with a goofy one before he replied to me.
"For What? Being your Superman?"
A giggle bubbled up my throat at his words even when a memory of a certain emerald green eyed guy flashed in my mind as he told me once he'd be my Batman, how ironic. "Yes, and for never giving up on me." I answered his question.
