Chapter 11 - Hospital 1

-Chapter 11-

I could feel the softness of an object placed under my head. It felt like a pillow, a really soft one. The room I was in was chilly even though a had a blanket over me.

I felt like I had been sleeping for a while. My head was throbbing with pain and everything was still pitch black. My eyelids were heavy and all my efforts to open them were in vain. I tried to move my hand but felt something stuck into it. 

Where am I? I questioned myself in my heart.

I was so tired as though my energy was drained just by breathing. I tried blinking my eyes again but I still could not get them to open.

Even though, I could not see my surrounding at that moment, I could hear it. 

"Is she going to be okay?" I heard a lady say.

"Yes. Don't worry her. She is fine. She is just dehydrated and just need some rest now." Another person with a deeper voice said.

"She has been sleeping for almost a day now. Are you sure?" This person said with a worried tone. This person sounded very familiar. Like my father.

What is going on?

What is happening?

Where am I?

What is he talking about? 

Have I been sleeping that long?

Why have I been sleeping that long?

My head was spinning with this unanswered question. 

There were footstep sound as I heard a door creak open. 

"Mr Evans? I think you should have a little rest. Maybe have a coffee at the cafeteria downstairs? To help you stay awake or just to clear your mind." Another voice said.

"I think it is a good idea. John honey, I think I will have a cup of coffee and head home for a while. Just to take a shower and I'll come back later." The same lady said. She sounded like Andrea.

"You go. I will stay here." My father stubbornly said.

"Honey.." She sighed. "Tony is right. Just one cup then you can come back up. And besides, Tony and Kyle will be here. If anything out of the ordinary happens, they will tell you immediately right boys?" 

"Immediately. Not even a second late." A voice which sounded like Kyle or Tony assured him. They really sounded like twins and I had no idea how to differentiate their voices.

"Fine." Finally agreeing but he groaned reluctantly.

I still did know where I was and what happened to me. I had no memory of anything that happened before I came to this state.

The atmosphere was quiet as my dad and Andrea walked out. I think.

I felt something warm touching my hand. Something that made my heart skip a beat. The heat radiated from the hand which touched me sent sparks. 

"Ashley? If you can hear me, please wake up." Tony said. "Everyone is worried sick about you. You just fell all of a sudden at the bleaches." 

Bleaches? What bleaches?

The grip holding my hand tightened. 

There were no more talking after that and it returned to the same quiet atmosphere again. It felt as though they had left the room.
