-Chapter 14-
"Yo Evans!" Someone shouted making me jump. Only one person called me Evans and it was Jake. To my expectations, I turned around to see Jake waving his hand vigorously at me trying to get my attention.
I closed my locker as he approached me.
"Hey Evans! Library on Saturday. You and me. Okay?" he smirked.
"Uh..." before I could say something, his phone in his pocket interrupted.
"Great! You and I. It is a date! I'll pick you at 11!" he winked and waved to me again as he walked away to pick up the call.
I looked at him as he slowly disappeared into the crowd.
Date?
Today is Thursday? Why cant he tell me tomorrow?
Saturday?
Library?
Who dates in the library?
"What date? What is he talking about?" a voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Uh..." I turned to see a curious twin standing next to me.
Kyle.
"You have a date?" he narrowed his eyes but forcing a smile.
"Uh no... yes? I guess so. I have no idea. We are just going to the library together this Saturday." I replied him.
His mouth formed an 'o' then a half smile.
"Can I walk with you?" he asked and I nodded.
"So.... How was your day?" What a way to start a conversation.
"Boring I guess. Everyday is a routine. Sometimes I wish I could live a little." I sighed. "What about you?"
"Nothing much."
There was silence between us as we walked to the school gate.
"Can I drive you home?" he asked and I nodded again.
"I needed a lift anyways." I gave him a grateful smile. Aaron was sick and left me to follow James to school but James had chess club after school so I had to find my way home myself. Why not let Kyle drive me home.
"So I did not know you and Jake are going out." he said bluntly.
"Uh.. no. We are not. It is just that we met in the library the other day and I was helping him with his assignments. He probably needs help again." I shrugged.
"Right..." he said not entirely believing my statement.
"We are just friends." I reassured him.
He opened the passenger seat door for me to enter like a gentleman and then opened the driver seat door for himself.
His car was a red shiny sports car. He pushed the key into the engine and it roared into life as he drove to my house. So much for being humble.
"So, you going to James' party this Sunday?" he asked keeping his eyes on the road. The Brannon brothers was throwing a huge party because their parents were oversea. Friends of Tobey, Zach and James was going to be there. The party would be filled with all ages.
