- Chapter 12 -

"OH MY GAWD ASHLEY! YOU'RE FINALLY HERE!" She screamed panicking, her eyes showed fear and anxiety. Okay not really. She looked more excited than scared.

Weirdly.

"JAMES! YOU'RE HERE TOO?" She averted her eyes to him and back to me. "The more the merrier! C'mon guys! Come in and help me!" She said and dragged both of us in without explaining the situation or waiting for a reply from either of us.

She brought us into her house and left us at the living room while she rushed into the kitchen. Both of us looked around and saw her curtains ripped and a vase lying on the floor broken in pieces. Her cupboard which was leaning against the wall was in bad shape. It looked like as if something clawed it.

A blank and curious look flashed across James' face as he looked at me for an explanation.

"Did she just got robbed?" I shrugged.

I observed her living room once again and my eyes widen as it finally hit me. The reason she needed me was something I have done before and told her that I would never do it again no matter how much she begged me. Sweat started to drip from my forehead again and a shiver went down my spine as I recalled the horrible incident. It was truly unforgettable. I decided to make myself disappear by making a run for it before it was too late but she caught hold of my arm before I managed to escape through the door.

"Please Ashley!" She begged with pleading eyes. In her hand, she held the object I promised to stay away from.

"No! Never! It is too horrifying!" I yelled back sternly and wriggled my arm from her grip to escape but failed. "I mean it! I can't!"

"What? What? What are you people talking about?" James questioned.

"Ashley please. Look at me." She said ignoring the presence of James in her living room. Her hair was messed up and her shirt was torn. "I need you. I can't do it on my own. Please. You know how horrible it is so please help me out. I beg you."

I looked at her hand that held my arm. It was covered in red marks and my heart softened. "I can't. I just can't. I am sorry." I apologized, pleading her to release me.

She gave me her best puppy dog face and knelt on her knees. "Please."

"Fine! Fine! Get off the floor Evie." I finally gave in.

"What is it so horrible that you can't help her Ash?" James asked still curious.

"My cat is sick." Evelyn replied.

"And We have to give her cat medicine." I continued. Immediately James burst into laughter. He could not stop laughing and eventually lost his balance. He laughed so hard in disbelief while both Evelyn and I looked at each other.

"What - is - so hard - about - that?" He said, with very word in between of a laugh. "Let me do it then." He volunteered. "Just tell me how." He continued laughing.

My face lit up immediately. "Evelyn! Let James help you!" I grinned evilly.

"Oh we just have to push the tablet down fluffy's throat so that she swallows it and not spit it out." She said showing an innocent smile. (Yes her cat name is fluffy haha)
