-Chapter 16-
My phone vibrated and I fished it out of my pocket.
'I hate you!' It read.
If my guess was not wrong, this message should be from the crazy cheerleader, Cheryl. I sighed as I pushed myself higher. How the hell did she know my number? Lord knows how stalkerish she was. The wind was blowing my face as I went higher and higher on the swing. I was sitting on a tyre hanging from a tree in my backyard. It was the place my parents and I talked when either of us had troubles. We would sit for ages and relax there. Sometimes even count the stars above us. But sadly those things stopped happening.
I let the swing take me higher and higher.
My head was spinning from all the incidents that happened ever since I came back. It was midnight and I still had trouble sleeping. What insomia does to a person. At one side of the tree stood a small table and on it was my tea cup set my mother bought me from England.
It was a peaceful night as I made the swing slow down.
"Hey.. Thought I saw you here." A half smile was plastered on his face.
"Hey.." I turned to see who it was. The guy was topless and standing on the other side, looking at me.
"Can I come over?" I nodded and he jumped over the fence blocking him.
"Something bothering you?" He stood behind me and gently pushed me. The swing started swaying back and forth slowly.
"Nothing. Just doing some thinking. You?"
"I was about to hit the hay but I saw you here. You've been sitting here alone a lot these few days haven't you?" He stopped the swing and made it turn to face his worried expression.
"No.. Not really." I lied. I had been here almost every night since the kiss Kyle gave me which was the night I came back.
"I see you a lot here." He squatted down to make himself the same level as me. "Something is up. I know you too well." He continued.
"I'm fine." I forced a smile. "Have you been stalking me?" I teased.
"Maybe.." He winked and I stood up from the swing.
"Tea?" I said pouring myself a cup of chamomile tea. "It helps to calm the mind." He nodded and I poured him a cup too.
"Does it really work?" He asked curious.
"It does calm the mind i guess..." I trailed off. "But it does not take away the sorrow. Kinda like alcohol." I told him and he nodded taking the tea cup from me.
"At least this alcohol doesnt burn the throat or make someone drunk." He chuckled and took small sips, his eyes was never taken off me.
He was seated on the grass as he gestured me to go to him. I plopped down next to him and buried my head in his chest.
"Let it out babe, it will make you feel better."
Tears started to fall one by one down my cheeks. Crying really did make someone feel better, it's like letting out your feelings without words.
