Maybe... he's not so bad...

Lucy has slept more peacfully than she could remember, but now she awoke slowly as her internal alarm went off, telling her to get up. However, When she realized she wasn't under her bridge, she panicked.

Now G had been sleeping peacfully as well, which was something he hasn't done in a long time, so being awoken by a lound thud at 6 in the morning, wasn't something that made him all too happy.

"What the hell?!" He yellped as he bolted upright. He waited to hear another noise. When he did, he took a deep breath and quickly slipped out of bed.

He made his was to the room across the small hall and opened the door swiftly when he heard the noise become louder.

"Hey Luce? Aw crap." G said when he saw what had happened. He rushed over to the girl who had fallen off the bunk and ended up on the ground. The poor thing was rolled up in a tight ball and holding her head, sobbing pitifully on the floor.

G quickly tried pulling her into his lap, but he was met with a sharp scream.

G winced. "Ok, not what I needed this early." He said hoarsley. He gave a heavy sigh and rubbed her back soothingly. "Hey kiddo, what happened? Did you fall?" He asked.

The girl nodded but continued to cry quietly.

The skeleton nodded and looked up, it wasn't that big a fall, but she managed to either roll or just plain fall over the metal railing that was supposed to keep this kind of thing from happening. And then, she had hit the side of the bottom bunk, also a metal bar which he knew, was more painful than hitting the floor.

"Ah, not fun huh." He said, mentally facepalming himself after the words came. "She's not one of your brothers stupid. Treat her with more care and kindness. Bleh, sounds like a kiddy show." His thoughts were interupted when the girl latched onto his white t shirt.

He looked down and smiled, "Maybe she does trust me more than I though." He gently hugged her and pulled her onto his lap. He rubbed her head gently, "Hey it's gonna be alright. I know it hurts, so cry it out, but It'll go away. I promise." He assured her.

The girl stared wide eyed and shocked at the skeleton. "How can anyone... be so nice?" She wondered.

G gently wiped away her tears with his bone thumb, then pulled her back to lay against his ribcage. "There, you're alright, see?" He whispered, still rubbing her head. He could feel the nasty bump forming and decided to get her some ice.

So he picked her up, setting her on his hip, and made his way through the dark apartment to the kitchen.

Once there, he adjusted the lights to stay dim, not wanting them too bright while it was still dark out. He sat the girl on a counter beside the fridge and proceeded to make an ice pack.

"Let's put some ice on that sweetheart. That lumps gotta sting." He said plopping ice cubes into the ice bag. The girl nodded sadly and rubbed her head, making a sharp hiss when she touched the lump.

G couldn't help but give a tiny chuckle. "If you waited 5 more seconds, I would have told you not to touch it." He told her, now facing her and holding out the filled ice bag.

Lucy couldn't help but smile at it. It had a strawberry print on it. She giggled and looked up at him shyly. G groaned. "My friend picked it out. She thought it was soooo cute. I wanted the pain blue one, but nooooo, It's apparently not my apartment." He complained, making the girl giggle more when he exaggerated words.

G let out a sigh and smiled, "Whatever, here." He removed her hand from the wound and replaced it with the bag. "There. Feel better?" He asked softly. Lucy nodded and gave a small yawn.

"Awww, you're so cute." The skeleton said, ruffling the girl's hair.

He noticed that now that her hair had dried, it parted in the middle and fell around her face softly and reached down to her waist. It was straight up top, but halfway down it fell into soft, natural curls.

Its light gold color made her pale skin look less sickly. It added life to her dull eyes and made her look older.

He smiled lazily. "You're a very beautiful young lady." He complemented softly. The girl blushed harder and looked away.

"Heh, sorry. Think'n out loud I guess. Don't mind me." He said with a low chuckle. The girl only looked around shyly, avoiding eye contact.

G sighed. "Hey, I promised I won't hurt you, remember? Now you seem pretty sleepy, so let's-"

The skeleton was interupted by a loud banging, fallowed by a scraping sound.

Lucy gave a tiny scream and quickly grabbed G, trying to pull him close but ended up pulling herself off the counter. She yellped in suprise, but G caught her and lifted her into his arms. She quickly wrapped her legs around his non-existent waist and burried her face into his chest.

The skeleton rubbed her back and gently shushed her whimpers. He looked around and the noise was heard again. "I think it came from out the window..." He mumbled, stepping over to it.

Lucy shook her head and gave a screech, making it known that she didn't want to get any closer to the sound.

G chuckled at her reaction, "It's ok doll, it's just the wind. Dont worry." He whispered softly to her. She only nuzzled into him, looking for saftey.

"I got you, I got you. Don't worry baby doll." He whispered as he continued to walk to the window.

Once there he peered out, trying to use the street lights to see around. "I don't see anything..." He mumbled.

Then the wind picked up again and the loud banging and scraping returned. Lucy yellped and clutched tighter to G.

The skeleton smiled, "Look Luce, it's just a lose gutter. Nothing to worry about." He explained softly. The girl looked up and gave him a very unsure look. He chuckled lightly, and the girl jumped a bit when she felt his ribcage shake.

"Heh, you're such a curious human. You're like a child, but I know you're not." He said with a smile. The girl looked away.

When the noise was heard again she yellped and burried her face once more into his chest. The skeleton sighed and carried her back to her room.

Such a strange girl. Yet, it only makes me want to protect all the more...
