Chapter 8: Motel Troubles
Jasmine sat in her seat with her arms crossed over her chest, staring straight ahead with cold eyes. Huey glanced at her from time to time. Her yelling at me is better than this silence, he thought. In the distance, Huey squinted and saw the motel he planned to stay at. He had an alliance there that he was hoping would help him, help them. Huey parked the car in the almost empty parking lot and turned off the engine.
He pulled off his hoody, revealing the strong biceps underneath and held it to Jasmine. "Use this to hide your face just incase."
Jasmine rolled her eyes before snatching the hoody and pulling it on, she couldn't help but close her eyes at the warmness and scent, it reminded her of home, of what they used to be. She pulled the hood over her head before she and Huey got out the car. "Don't say anything," Huey instructed.
She said nothing and crossed her arms.
Huey pushed the door open and they walked up to reception. A man sat behind the desk, hiding his face behind a newspaper and chewing his gum loudly. "Travis."
He lowered the paper, revealing a handsome, youthful face. His eyes widened with recognition. "Ay Huey!" He stood up and the two shook hands. "Good to see you again man! Who's this?"
"Just one of my evening contacts."
Jasmine's eyebrows shot up.
"Well dang, I didn't think you went that way, Freeman." He chuckled. "I can't imagine you being interested in hoes."
Jasmine began to say something, but Huey nudged her.
"She ain't dressed like one either..." He eyed her hoody and sweats. Jasmine began to say something at his lust look before Huey nudged her again. "Anyway. You want a room?"
"Yeah, and if you don't mind, I'd like to keep my name off the record?"
Travis smiled. "You were never here." He took one of the keys of its hook and gave it to him. "Have a good time."
Huey nodded in thanks and walked out with Jasmine trailing behind him. Once they were out of an earshot she said, "You called me some fucking hooker?!"
"Oh. So now you talk." Huey inserted the key into the keyhole and unlocked the door.
Jasmine scoffed. "Whatever."
He pushed the door open and Jasmine frowned at the condition of the room. "Not your rich style, princess?" Huey said as she eyed the place.
I'm so used to suites, she thought. She pulled off the hoody and threw it on the bed. "I'm going to take a shower."
"You do that."
Jasmine glared at him and walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later, he heard the water running.

Jasmine stepped out of the shower, and frowned when she saw there were no towels. I hate stupid motels, she thought angrily. She opened the door just a bit. "Huey?"
Nothing.
She opened the door wider and poked her whole head out. Huey wasn't in the room. "What the..."
The door opened suddenly and she shrinked back a bit. Huey walked in, carrying a plastic bag in his hand. He arched an eyebrow. "What're you doing?"
"Wondering where hell where you were," Jasmine spits back. "They're no towels."
"I figured you'd have a problem with that. Here." Huey walked to the door and held up the back. She took it suspiciously with one hand and looked inside. Then she clicked her tongue in disapproval after seeing the clothes.
