Chapter 9: News & Threats
"Gentlemen, I assure you. This drug is used professionally and only when it has to be, not to drug men and kidnap their fiancés. No one in my agency is involved in such acts."
Wolf was beginning to get annoyed. Ramsey sat next to him with his hand thoughtfully on his chin. Detective Ramsey spoke up, "And you wouldn't mind if we interrogated your men?"
The governor gave him with an irritated look.
Ramsey added. "Just to--"
"No no no, knock yourself out. Now if you two would excuse me, I have work to do."
You mean steal more of our money and ignore the poverty? Wolf thought. Nevertheless, they stood up at the same time, straightening their suits. "Thank you for your time...sir." They turned and left the office.
Once out and walking down the hallway, Ramsey said, "I wonder who the hell shoved something into his ass."
Wolf chuckled.
"Now, this guy isn't very good at lying is he?"
Wolf got serious. "Actually, he just might be telling the truth. If he is, then someone here is stealing those drugs and doing his or her own thing."
Ramsey rubbed his forehead. "I feel myself getting a headache."
"Let's just interview his employees and see what we get. Keep our ears our for anything suspicious."
"Got it, Richard."

"Everything was fine before I left," Caesar told the cop investigating him. "Jackson arrived, I greeted him, and left." He got a call asking his permission to go in for questioning before his flight. He didn't even want to leave L.A, not until Jasmine was found.
"Mr Caesar--"
"Just call me Caesar." It spooked him to have to be called Mr Caesar. It just wasn't what he was used to.
The cop cleared his throat. "Caesar, do you think Mr White had any intention of harming Miss DuBios?"
Caesar arched an eyebrow and the cop explained further, "One of our theories is that...maybe he hired someone and drugged himself to look innocent."
Caesar shakes his head slowly. "This drug that was used on him belonged to the highest in government. I doubt Jackson would have those connections. He's too much of an airhead."
"And the couple's relationship?"
"Jasmine seemed happy, so did Jackson. If they were problems then I wasn't a go-to-guy."
"Thank you, Caesar. That's all we need."
The two left the interrogation room at the same time. Caesar said his byes and walked out to the lobby where his bodyguard was waiting. His phone rang and he answered without looking at the I.D. "Yup?"
"Caesar, please tell me your in the jet right now. We don't want to be behind schedule."
It was Ethan.
The bodyguard opened the car door. He also acted as a chauffeur. Caesar didn't like too many people 'protecting' him. Caesar sat inside the back as he answered, "Nope. Had an interview."
"I know you're upset, but please, don't let this kidnap get to you. You're a comedian, you being depressed is the last thing I need."
"Right right, because me being depressed and out will mess with your pay, huh?"
