Chapter 20: Jack Shadow / Drinks
"Miiiiiing."
"Hm?"
"Take me back. This is kidnap."
Ming rolled her eyes and said to the limo driver. "Ignore him." She leaned back in her seat and texted again. She had changed into a short dress earlier and tied her hair up in a high ponytail. Red lipstick coated her lips. Caesar sighed and looked out the window. He was also forced to change into a button up and jeans, but he didn't tie his short dreads.
The car stopped in front of The Dive and Ming's guard hopped out of the passenger's seat to clear the way.
Ming noticed Caesar's frown. "Don't be like that! I have a surprise for you."
Caesar sighed. "Oh God."
"Shut up and get out."
There was no way he wanted to risk Ming pushing him out herself, she was really tough, so he went out of the car. Caesar was recognised immediately and there was such a hassle that the club's bouncer had to help. People tried to get pictures of the two. They did their best to ignore them and walked into the club, quickly being followed by the bodyguard.
Ming took Caesar's arm and dragged him to the bar where they got the bartender's attention immediately. Ming pointed at Caesar, "Give him something strong!"
Caesar sighed as the bartender went to make his drink. "So what's my surprise?" Ming grinned and pointed her finger towards the source of the music. Caesar followed her finger and a wide smile spread on his face. The dj was a good looking Asian. Hiro looked up from his station just in time and saluted. Caesar laughed, "No way. Shouldn't he be performing...somewhere?"
Ming shook her head with a smile. "He also heard about you and dropped everything."
"You guys are the best."
Ming grinned as the bartender placed Caesar's drink on the table. "Don't forget it."

A few minutes later they were all sat at a booth in the VIP where they were treated like royalty, with other either really important people or small time celebrities. It was way less crowded where they sat on a platform, and as a bonus, free champagne in ice!
Hiro wore all black, including his headphones around his neck. Most of the time he wore those for style. His hair was dark and messy and loose in a hot kind of way. He hadn't cut in a long time.
"And so," he said, "I told Kanye that if he didn't pay me what I was worth? He wouldn't use my track."
"What happened?"
Hiro grinned. "He paid me what I was worth. Paid me even more after he listened and said he wanted beats for his whole album." Hiro leaned back in his seat with a lazy smirk.
"You know, I haven't listened to a song where you rap in a long time. You're helping other artists."
Hiro shrugged. "I've been concentrating more on my beats than my lyrics, but I'm working on something." He took a sip of his champagne. "I really enjoyed your show in London."
"Haha, you got to see that?"
"Brah, I never miss any of your stand ups. Yous funnier than Trevor Noah, and I like Trevor Noah." He frowned. "But you seemed less, y'know, energised than you usually are on stage."
Caesar looked down at his drink.
"That's why I brought him out," Ming said, placing a hand on his back. "So--"
"Caesar!"
The three turned their heads towards the bottom of the platform where people walked up. Th bouncers let the fashionista through. Angelica was with two other girls. She was dressed in a dress even shorter than Ming's and more sparkly. She and her girls passed by, loudly greeting the three before sitting in their own booth.
"Man, that girl been MIA, I thought she was dead," Hiro commented. Ming shrugged one shoulder in agreement. "She look good though."
Caesar sighed. "Yep."
The two stared at him. "Caes, you two..." Hiro crossed his fingers.
Caesar chuckled. "What?"
"Are ya'll seeing eachother?"
"No...well, er, not like that."
Ming blinked.
"We're--"
"Fuckbuddies?"
Caesar shrugged. "I tried to have a relationship, but she--"
"Aye, I get it, man." Hiro chuckled. "Put them defences down. Its hard for us men--"
"Really, Hiro?" Ming gave him a look.
Hiro chuckled nervously. "Er...did I tell you about my new collaboration with Drake?"

"This sucks."
"Jack, just a few days ago you begged me to assign you to a mission. Why the attitude?"
The teenager rolled his blue eyes and leaned back in his seat as the other agents listened in on their conversation. "I meant something with guns, so I could test my training...not seduction."
"I never said you have to seduce--"
"That's basically what you're asking me."
The shadow rolled his eyes. "I can get someone else."
Jack Shadow's lips curved into a lazy, sexy smirk. "We both know you can't."
The shadow pressed his lips together, completely irritated with his nephew's attitude. Jack's parents, the Shadow's brother and his wife had disappeared years before. He took Jack in and trained him, raising the boy as his own. If you saw the two for the first time you'd think that they were father and son. They shared the same blue eyes and even hair, except Jack's hair was more of a white-ish blonde. Really, Jack was one of the only younger agents, around the age of eighteen who could help.
The White Shadow was desperate.
"Jack--"
"I'll think about it." Jack stood up and stretched out his thick arms before walking out the way he entered without another word.
The Shadow's fists clenched.
"Um, sir?" One of the agents spoke.
The Shadow sighed. "Who has any other ideas?" This boy is getting on my last nerve.

The comedian and the athlete slowly, a bit drunkenly walked back to Caesar's penthouse from the elevator. "Thanks for tonight," Caesar slurred a bit as his hand loosely grabbed the door handle. "Guess I really did need a drink...really got my mind of things."
Ming grinned and brushed it off. "No problem. You don't need me to stay for the night?"
"Nah...I'm good. See you soon?"
"See you soon." Ming gave Caesar a hug and went on her way.
Caesar stumbled into his luxury apartment, not even locking the door behind him. His body fell face first onto his white U-shaped couch, his eyes shut, and his imagination took him back to the good old days.
