Chapter 51: Statements Pt. 1

Yesterday, Jordan got out of the hospital . She gets around in a wheel chair since she has a broken foot . She can't use crutches because of her broken wrist and arm . So Sierra and I push her around everywhere she'd like to go .

Today, is the day we take her to make her statements . I have to make one as well since I use to go to her house all the time to spend the night . I knew her family and him . I also know why JM and Mrs. April got a divorce . The police think it's a good idea if I testify on his behavior in court later on . Yes, we have to go to court for this .

"You ready ?" Sierra asks Jordan and I .

I nod and so does Jordan .

"Are you okay ?" I direct to Jordan .

She nods again . She hasn't talked much, she's scared . She flinches at every thing now .

"C'mon let's go ." Sierra ushers . I push Jordan down to the car . Sierra is driving . Rocky and Ross are out shopping today . It sound girlie when I say that.

---At The Station---

"Right this way ma'am ." A FBI agent named Brent direct Jordan . Her eyes fill with panic and horror .

"I'm not going in there without them ." Jordan whispers, barley audible .

"If you insist but only one . In fact let it be Katie . " Brent orders. How does he know I'm Katie ?

"You two come with me ." He orders . I push Jordan into a questioning room . It looks similar to those in movies. I never imagined being in one of these to make a statement over something like this .!

Once in the room I see two seats and a metal table . Brent takes his seat . I take mine and move the other chair out of the way and push Jordan to the desk .

"Alright. Let's start simple for both of you . And I'll tell you about myself as well. State your real full name, date of birth, age, town, the names of your parents or guardians, siblings, main friends , relationship status and people living in your current household ." He says . I take it all in, remembering the order .

"Katie Diana Dorsey soon to be Lynch . April 17, 1993 . 20 years old . I grew up in Griffin, Georgia but I now live in LA, California . Stephanie and Kenneth Dorsey . My older sister Allison and her husband Brett . Jordan Harless, Sierra Williams, Ellington Ratliff, Riker, Rocky, Ryland, Rydel, Ross Lynch . Ross is my fiancé . And it's just Ross and I in our own home. " I state .

"Jordan Nicole Harless . September 4, 1992. 20 soon to be 21 . Griffin, Georgia . April and Jamie Harless, stepdad John Michael . My younger brother DJ and my older sister Kayla Harless with her wife Leighann . Katie Dorsey, Sierra Williams, Ashley Hodo, Jacey Cooke and Meaghan Waits . I was cheated on by a guy named Joel who was the love of my life . JM, my dad, and myself . " She snickers but flinches at some parts like speaking about JM or Joel .

"Brent Joshua Michaels . January 23, 1990 . 23 . Fayetteville, Georgia . Josie and Phil Michaels. My younger sister Lucy, older sister Ariana and older brother Jay . Ethan Smith, Melody Barnes, James Carr, Trey Dean, Jason Floss, and Luke Farewell, all are officers or either FBI except my wife and child . Married to Debby Michaels, my little girl names Elena Michaels loves Hermosa, that's how I knew who you were she has posters, also we are expecting a son who we shall name Parker Dean Michaels . It's just us in out home ." Brent states .

"Now that we know each other well, I'm gonna ask you a question and I want you two to write it down on these pieces of paper ." He orders .

Question : How long have y'all been friends ?

Jordan and I write down the same thing, of course, 9 years .

Question: Tell me about John Michael

K: I met him while in the 7th grade . He didn't really give me a great impression . Jordan and I couldn't stand him at all . In the beginning of the 8th grade him and April got a divorce . Jordan wasn't effected by it at all . In fact she was sorted happy .

J: I never liked him . He tried to replace my father . He drank and smoked and I could've sworn he was on drugs. Him and my father went to rehab together . And that's were they became friends . Katie didn't like him either . Even her family thought he was involved with drugs and they've barely spoke to him . My mom and him got a divorce when I was around 14. He was getting abusive nod scaring my mom so they got a divorce .

Question : Please tell me everything in your knowledge about the accident .

K: I was called 3 weeks ago by April . I just got done with a tour when I got the call, I heard a nurse say to Mrs . April that her daughters heart stopped . I freaked out and Sierra and I rushed down here with the rest of the Lynches and Ratliff . April told me and Sierra that Jordan found out Joel was cheating on her and never even moved. Jordan was really upset moved out of her moms house to her dads . Which I don't know why she thought that was a good idea in the first place . One day, when she came home she had a slight attitude towards him and he beat her .

J: On August 14, I discovered that my true love was cheating on me . Joel had told me he moved to Ohio . The next week I never saw him except over FaceTime . He cheated on me with this girl named Courtney, I did notice she never showed up for church but I didn't think much of it . I saw them in Walmart and my heart shattered . I know they were together, like together, he was holding her like he held me . I wanted to confront him but my feet wouldn't move, I felt paralyzed . She looked up at me though and smirked, once she did I turned on my heels and ran back home . I packed all my bags and moved out of my moms house . There were too many memories of him there . The only place I knew to go was to my dads except he just moved in with JM but I didn't think about that . I avoided him for 3 days until my dad had to go back to rehab but JM just cleared so he didn't . The next day, after my dad left, I went to work like usual . I had to deal with ignorant customers like always but I was think about what I saw in Walmart the week before . When I got home, JM was drunk like always . I brought home Taco Bell for myself and he got mad I didn't offer any . I got an attitude like I always do when he's drunk . He slammed down my food and yanked me up from the chair by my hair . He threw me against the hard wall . Before I could get up, he was kicking me really hard and laughing at me . By that time is as crying because of the pain. And I'm one who knows how to take pain well . I felt my bones cracking and bruises forming . I didn't even know I could feel those things . He stopped for a split second long enough for me to get up which was very hard to manage . I didn't stand up fully though because he forced me back down. He started punching me and I couldn't do anything to stop it . Next he pulled me back up from the floor by my hair and pushed me against the wall . He slapped me multiple times . That's when my mom walked in on it and started yelling at him, he moved away from me . I can't recall what happened next because I believe I blacked out . The next thing it remember was waking up to a blinding light with the voices of people . I feel asleep again and awoke to my moms voice . On the day, August 20, I was beat by my step father .

Jordan finishes with teardrops falling onto the paper .
