Michaels Pov

Me and Ellie walk back into our room smiling. This is probably the best day I've had in a month. Ha. Considering its pretty much the only day I've been awake for a month.

We head for our curtained room. We know its ours because the curtain is blue, unlike all of the other dirty white curtains. Theres lots of talking going on behind many curtains, so it cancels out the screaming sounds coming from one of the rooms, but me and Ellie still hear it. We are approaching our room when we hear another scream/cry. Ellie winces and thats when we realize it is coming from our room. We quickly reach for our sky blue curtain and pull it to the side.

There laying on the ground, was nate, Ellie's younger brother. There was foam coming out of his mouth, and his eyes were rolled to the back of his head, and he was shaking like crazy. On the bed are Ellie's parents, ben, and sam. But where are my parents? Ellie lets out an ear piercing scream as she falls to the floor to Nate's side, just as my parents barge in with two doctors.

"NO GET AWAY FROM HIM IMMEDIATELY!" The middle-aged doctor with blond hair yells at ellie.

You could see the fear on her face. She slowly stood up and started backing away, when Nate grabbed her leg.

"Ow! Nate! Nate please let go you're hurting me!" she yells.

The doctors were trying to talk to the crazy kid but they wouldn't help Ellie who was standing there crying in pain. I pushed my way through the doctors and kicked Nate's hand off of her. I pulled Ellie into my chest and carried her out of the room. She was resisting and trying to go back but i wouldn't let her go.

"Michael! Let me go!"

"No Ellie i..." I protest but am interupted.

"My brother is in there going crazy! i need to be in there Michael just let me go!" She yells at me angrily.

"Ellie its not sa..." I begin.

Ellie starts rapidly hitting my chest and yelling at me.

"God dammit Ellie! Just let me talk! You can go back to the room, i dont care! Just give it a couple minutes to die down in there. Its too hectic and i dont want you seeing any of whats going on! Please just stay out here with me."

At this she calms down. She sighs and nods her head.

"Okay. Yeah you're probably right.." She says.

I smile at her and pull her into a big hug. Thats when ben and sam come running out.

"Dad said for you guys to take us to the food court. Were hungry and they're going to take care of Nate while were gone." Sam says to me.

Perfect i think to myself. I smile at Ellie even though shes obviously in pain. God i hope Nate's alright. I hate seeing her like this.

We walk towards the elevator and travel down to the second floor where the food court was.

We each grab a tray and begin to go our separate ways to the different food counters. Its like a really gross buffet.

I go over to the meat counter. All of the meat was cold looking and mushy. I walked over to the salad bar and decided on a salad. It was the only food that didn't completely destroy my appetite.

After getting a tray of food, i look around for everyone. I see them sitting on a table in the distance. I walk towards them and sit down.

Everything was silent for a while as we ate, so i broke the silence.

"Soo what exactly happened to him?" I ask motioning to sam.

"I dont really know. For the past couple weeks he's been acting kind of weird. Like he was always pissed at his parents for no reason. Even your parents. He wouldn't talk to anyone except me. We thought he was just stressed out but the doctors are claiming he has a different sickness while our parents are stuck with the though that he has zen, even though if he did, he would've been dead a while ago. Plus, he hasn't been outside to breath that air in over a month.

Anyways we were all just sitting there talking as usual, then Mr.Pagura came over and put a hand on his shoulder and asked if he was hungry. Nate stood up, then full on slapped mr.pagura. Before mr.Pagura could yell or anything, Nate dropped to the ground and started convulsing. Thats when you guys walked in.." Sam finished.

After we finished eating, we went back upstairs to the room. Everyone was there, talking worriedly. Everyone except for nate.

"Wheres nate?" sam and Ellie say in unison.

"They took him to his own room, so the doctors could operate on him to see whats wrong." My mom said.

"He's not aloud near any of us until he's 100% better. If its contagious, the doctors do want us catching whatever he has. They're trying to keep as much of the population alive, and i guess if we get everyone in the hospital sick, then...." Mrs.Pagura adds.

"So dont go asking to see him. You cant. Well get updates every hour or so on how he's doing." my dad says.

Just then our curtain door swoops open. The same blonde male doctor from before.

"Bad news.." He says.

Dun dun DUUUN. Sorry mine and gabbys chapters are always short because we post 2-3 chapters a day(you're welcome.)
