Hey guys!! So sorry that this chapter didn't come out for a while. It was originally gonna be longer but I split it up into 2 chapters. AND AND AND. IMPORTANT NEWS. 11 CHAPTERS BEFORE ONE THAT YOU'LL ALL LOVE!!! Dan's POV
It's been a week since our last fight. Phil begged me to come back because Kyle wouldn't behave. I told him I'm stupid and that I shouldn't have done what I did. He agreed. Then we made out.
Ring ring.
"Hello?"
"Hi Danny!!" it's my mum.
"Hi mum."
"I was calling to see if you guys wanted to go camping with Austin your dad and I!" (i know it's Adrian but we're gonna call him Austin!)
Austin is my little brother. He's 14. "Sure! I'll ask Phil if he wants to go."
"Amazing!! I'll text you the camp site. Bring Kyle!" She laughs and hangs up. I smile and put away my phone and go to the lounge. "Hi darling." He says as I walk in.
"Hey! My mum just called to see if we wanted to go camping with her tonight! Do you want to go with Kyle and I?"
"I'm good." He says. "I don't really like the forest."
"Alright. Well the family wants to see Kyle. Are you okay with being here alone for the weekend?"
"Yeah! No worries. I got your cereal to keep me company!" He smiles.
I roll my eyes and go to Kyle's room. He's playing with his hot wheels and stuffed animals. "Hi baby." I smile and sit down next to him.
"Hi!" He smiles back.
"I have a question for you."
"Hmm?"
"Do you want to go camping with me, uncle Austin, and Grandna and grandpa?"
He looks up with a smile and nods frantically.
"Great! I'll get you packed!" I smile.
"What camping?"
Should've known. Orphans don't go camping.
"Camping is where you go into the woods with friends and spend the night there."
"Okay!" He giggles. "I bring dino?"
"Sure!" I smile.
I run off to my room to Pack my stuff. I pack my drugs that I still take. Oxygen...oxygen. Shit. Kinda forgot that I need that to sleep. Shit shit shit.
Hmmm. Yes! Portable oxygen in the closet! Yay! I grab that and put it next to my bag. I go Kyle's room and grab his stuff. He has dinosaur print pajamas. Lol.
I grab everything he needs and put it in my bag, load the car, kiss Phil good bye and drive to the camp site.
It took 2 hours to get there. Kyle fell asleep on the way. He slid his shirt off and kicked off his shoes and slipped his arm over his seat belt. All while I was driving.
Once we got there, I parked at the spot where we were staying at. I got Kyle to put his shirt back on and his shoes.
"Danny!! Baby!" Mum comes up and kisses me. "Haven't seen you since I came to your house to take care of you!" She smiles.
"When was this?" I ask.
"Oh! You don't remember. After you were in a coma you acted like a child for a good while..."
Great. Just fucking great.
"Wow."
Soon tiny Kyle appeared with his dinosaur in one hand. "Dino!!" He came up to me and tugged my shirt.
"And this must be the famous Kyle!!" Mum kneels to his level. "Hi!" She smiled and waved.
Kyle's smile went to a frown as he automatically went to hide behind me.
"Kyle. You're okay. This is Grandma!" I say while gesturing to her.
"Hi..." He shyly said.
She smiles and stands up. "Where's Phil?"
"Oh he didn't want to come. He isn't a forest person!"
"Too bad. I got him some lion cereal!" She smiles.
"Oh! That's sweet. I'll tell him you did that!" I smile.
Just then, Austin comes out of tent.
"Austin! Come say hi to your brother and your nephew!" Mum orders as she walks off into the RV.
He smirks and walks towards me. "Hey..." He says.
"Hey big squirt!" I smile and ruffle his hair.
"Don't call me that."
I laugh and smile at the remark. "This is Kyle."
"Hey..." it's always that stupid hey thing, isn't it?"
Kyle just stared and his behind me once again.
"How come He won't talk?"
"Kyle has a mental illness called autism."
"Cool."
"No. Not cool. It doesn't really allow Kyle to think like we can. He doesn't comprehend everything."
"Oh..."
"Yup."
"Daddy?" Kyle asks while tugging on my shirt.
"Yes baby?"
"I'm hungry." He whines.
"Alright. Give daddy a moment I'll see if there are snacks." I kiss his tiny head.
Just then, mum comes out of the RV door with a present for Kyle. She comes up to him with a bag and tissue paper. "I have a present for you." She smiles and hands the bag to Kyle. He stares at the blue bag with tiny dinosaurs all over it.
She chuckles. "Go ahead silly! Open it!"
Kyle smiles and starts ripping out the tissue paper. He pulls out a dinosaur onesie and let's the bag fall to the ground. Its a smaller version of mine.
"Some one told me you like dinosaurs!" She smiles.
Kyle stares at the onesie then at me.
"Do you like it?" She asks.
He nods slowly as I take the onesie and fold it up to put it away.
"Kyle!" Austin calls from the fire pit. "Wanna learn how to make a fire?"
He smiles and runs to Austin. "Please don't light my child on fire!" I joke as he runs off.
I look back at mum and start to speak. "Mum, you really shouldn't have done that."
"Oh don't worry about it!"
"No. Seriously! You really shouldn't have done that!"
Her smile has turned into a frown. "Why not?"
"Because. I've told you about his autism. But he also has sensory issues. So if he has anything besides a blanket on his chest when he is sleeping, he can't sleep. It makes him feel as if someone is holding him down."
"Ooh. I'm sorry."
"It's ok. He can probably wear it before and After bed. Where's dad?" I ask.
"He's getting some more food from the store a few miles back!"
"Okay!" I smile.
"Your tent is over there!" She smiles back and points to a blue big tent. "I figured you and Kyle could share. I was gonna make Austin share with Kyle but then I figured you would want to be with him."
"Yeah. Thank you for that." I go to the trunk of the car to pull Kyle's and my bag out. Mum helps and takes out my oxygen.
I set up the tent on the inside and make everything nice.
"Where's my older child?" I hear dad ask as he close the door of the car. "I see his car but I don't see him."
I chuckle and climb out of the tent. There stand my dad who pulls me into a giant hug. "How are you?!" He asks.
"I'm good." I smile.
"How are you feeling from the car reck?"
"Much better. I still have physical therapy and I'm still on oxygen at night. The doctors say I might have it for the rest of my life."
"Awww. That was a really bad car crash."
"Yeah, But Molly was alright. I would rather go through therapy and oxygen than have her go through it."
He smiles and leaves me be.
I start to set up the tent. I have my really small sleeping bag I barely fit in. I'm not sure how Kyle would react to a sleeping bag. So I take his and open it up all the way. And same with mine. Placing it flat like a cushion on the hard dirt. I take Phil's duvet and lay that out flat along with some other blankets. I stole Phil's duvet so I can have him here. He has mine back at home. I place my pillow down and Kyle's pillow that's covered in space ship print.
Then I place my oxygen on the side I'm sleeping on.
Later on the night, Mom cooks burgers. And Austin...is digging a hole...
I walk up to him with Kyle in my arms. "Austin? Why are you digging a hole?"
"So when the clowns come, I can kill them and bury them."
"Clowns?" Kyle asks. "Clowns are fun!"
"Not these clowns! They come into the woods and kill little kids like you!!"
"Austin that is enough!" Dad warns.
Kyle's smile turns into a frown and starts crying into my shoulder. "Daddy! I don't want to die!!" He cries.
"Austin was just joking! I Promise!" I kiss his head.
"Austin. Go do something besides torture little kids for once!" Dad says.
"Like what?"
"Go get some more fire wood from the ranger." He hands him a 10 dollar bill.
"But it's dark." Austin complains.
"Don't let the clowns get ya!!" I joke.
Later on, once dinner was made, mum set the table. Dad has 3 burgers, mum had 1, Austin had 2, I cut Kyle's in half and took the other half for my self since he doesn't eat much.
About half way into dinner, a fucking moth landed on my plate.
"OH HELL NAH!!!" I scream and flip the plate and it's food.
"Daniel!" My father shouts. "What the hell was that about?"
      "I don't like moths..."
"Well too fucking bad! Now you've ruined your dinner and set a bad example for your kid!"
"Sorry..." I stand up and get the plate.
Later on after dinner, we were all sat around the fire making smores.
Kyle didn't like the sticky marshmallow but he got over it once it was on a gram cracker.
"Well." Dad stood up from the chair. "Mum and I are going to go to bed. You 3 don't stay up too late okay?"
"Yes dad." Austin replys. I smile and nod while bouncing Kyle on my lap.
"Austin, no more soda it's late." Mum told. "Dan help your self and Kyle to anything you want."
      "Alright."
"Why does Kyle get to have anything He wants but not me?!" Austin asks.
"I didn't say he can. Its up to Dan what Kyle can have. Kyle is his son. Now good night." Mum kisses Austin's head, mine, and Kyle's and went to bed with dad.
After about 10 minutes, Kyle started to yawn and rub his eyes.
"You tired?" I ask. He sleepily opens his eyes again and nods. "I'll be back." I tell Austin.
I carry Kyle over to the tent and get him into pajamas. Its not too cold at night yet but it isn't exactly warm. Its April. I gently lay the kid on the sleeping bag that I layed out earlier. "This is papas duvet. Cuddle with it, okay?" I ask. He nods slowly and soon drifts him off to sleep.
I go back out and talk quietly with Austin. Just a brotherly talk. About an hour later of talking. I hear rustling coming from the tent. "DADDY!" Kyle cries. "DADDY! DADDY!"
I stand up quickly and un-zip the tent. "Come here baby. Daddy is here." I put my arms out for Kyle to climb in. His eyes are teary and he jumps into my arms. "Austin? It's getting late. We should go to bed." I say.
"Alright. I'm tired anyways." He says and goes to his tent.
I climb into the tent with Kyle and get my pajamas on. Slip on the cannula and my Kyle down once again. Pull the blankets over us and fall asleep.
        2 A.M.
"Daddy..." Kyle whispers and shakes me awake. "Daddy..."
"Wha? Oh, yes Kyle?" I ask. I try to find Kyle's hand as I make out the figure of a small human.
"I have to go to the bathroom." He says quietly.
"Okay okay. We'll go find a bathroom." I say and grab a flashlight.
    "Dino?"
"Yes, you can bring Dino." I turn on the flash light and slip on shoes. I get out of the tent and carry Kyle over the dirt. I see light coming from Austin's tent. I slowly walk over there and whisper his name.
     "What?" He asks.
"Why are you playing your DS?"
     "Cuz I want too."
"Come to the bathroom with us."  I say.
   "Why?"
"Because you're not even suppose to be on your DS anyways."
"Ugh fine!" He turns off the DS and climbs out of the tent.
We walk off of our little spot and on the road. Seeing the other campers. Some still awake. But most, asleep.
     "Daddy?" Kyle asks.
     "Yes baby?"
     "Are there clowns?"
"No sweetie. There are no clowns. Right Austin?"
     "Sure."
I shine the flash light along the road and soon find a bathroom. I wait for the two before we head back to the site.
I send Austin to bed and put Kyle back down. Slowly drifting off to sleep again. Hopefully for the last time.
