Dan's POV:
I was editing a video as Kyle played with his hot wheels. We were in the living room. Kyle had taken his cars and used everything he could had a race track, including my arm.
"Weeeeee!!!" He shouted as he pushed the car down from my shoulder to my hand, into the keyboard.
"Thank you Kyle." I said as I slightly pushed him off the keyboard. He started giggle and run around the living room, soon bumping into the book shelf. He looked up. "Daddies!"
"Huh?" I asked, not looking away from the laptop.
"Daddies!!" He squealed and jumped up and down.
"What are you talking about?"
I uploaded my video and went to Kyle.
"Daddies!" He pointed up at the bookshelf to the plushies. "Oh. You see our plushy versions!"
"Plushy what?" Phil asked as he walked into the room.
"Kyle sees our plushy versions."
"Oooh!"
Kyle whines and opens and closes his hands, signaling he wants the plushies.
"Okay! You can play with them!" I grab the plushies off the shelf and hand them to Kyle. He squeaks and runs off with them.
"Kyle get back here and clean your me-" SLAM! The door shuts. "Well shit." I mumble as I kick around the hot wheels on the floor.
After dinner, Phil and I went to go tuck the little shi-I mean Kyle, into bed.
I kissed his forehead and pulled the blanket up to his chin. I noticed the plushies on his pillow. I went to grab them so I could put them back on the book shelf. "MINE!" He screamed and snatched the from me. "Mine." He mumbled and held them tightly to his chest.
I looked over at Phil who shrugged. "Uh baby, daddy needs to put those back."
"You gave them to me." He whines.
"To play with them..." I say.
"I like them!"
"Dan..." Phil said. "We can get new ones for the shelf."
"I guess you're right...Kyle? Do you promise to take care of them?" I ask. He nods. I smile and kiss his head and tuck him in.
