Prologue

Carson's POV

"I am sorry ms. Valdez, but we're no longer accepting new employees here" wait what?

Not again.

Lumabas na lang din ako sa kumpanyang pinasukan ko.

"Duke, I've been rejected again" pagsusumbong ko

I called him at nasa labas na ako ng kumpanyang nag reject sakin.

Mga gagong 'to, 2 years akong nagtrabaho sa abroad tas no longer accepts employees lang?

Che!

"I told you to work here. Ano pa't pinabalik kita dito kung sa ibang kumpanya ka magtatrabaho diba?" Duke said on the other line.

I sighed.

He told me to come back here in the Philippines so I can spend more time with him and Zac.

Zac, our 4 year old lil boy.

Nagtrabaho ako sa ibang bansa when Zac was just turning 2 years old..and now I came back for them.

I drove off to the company that I have worked for before.

Callbuzz.

I stared at the blinking billboard above the building.

Hello bad and good memories.

I took my shades off and walked in.

As usual, umupo ako sa bench malapit sa guard dahil bawal sila magpapasok ng mga hidi employee hangga't hindi pinapatawag.

Ugh, I feel a bit awkward

Deja vu.

I looked down at my phone at tinext na lang si Duke about my situation.

I feel like an OJT again.

"Good morning sir Hefflington" I heard manong guard said.

I looked at the direction manong guard called out.

Parang ultimo nag slow-mo ang lahat.

He looked much more mature now.

He's wearing a muscle fit plain ash gray t-shirt and pants at bitbit naman niya ang kanyang leather jacket.

He looks hot.

Tinanggal niya ang kanyang sunglasses at sinuot sa kanyang shirt.

He didn't notice me kasi marami kaming nakaupo dito sa bench.

He didn't greet back to manong guard but raised his brows like he was saying "hey"

"Pakshit, dessert" I unconsciously said

Dire diretso namang umakyat si Zeke at hindi ako narinig dahil dumiretso na siyang paakyat at naka earphones siya.

Tiningnan naman ako ng mga ibang applicants.

Fuck. Nakakahiyaaaa

Yumuko na lang ako.

"Car, come here" Duke called out at me

Saved by Duke.

Dali dali na akong umakyat.

I did the interview and passed.

Ms. Julie directed me and told me that I'm going to be a secretary.

Okay, that's fine by me.

"Come here, this is going to be your work station" Ms. Julie toured me at dinala ako sa isang office,

"And that is the room of our president..well, trainee pa lang. Come here, I'll show you" dinala niya ako sa tapat ng pinto ng aking table.

He knocked thrice and we came in.

Nakatalikod yung boss ko at may kausap ata sa phone.

I saw him put the call down and reached for his coffee.

"Uhm, excuse me sir. We have hired a new secretary for you"

The swivel chair turned and revealed my boss.

Naibuga niya ang kanyang coffee at nalaglag ko naman ang mga documents na hawak hawak ko.

"Zeke"

"Carson"

Sabay naming bigkas.

Fuck.
