A/N: Hey! I hope you guys like the story so far! Add it to your library! Comment if you are Team Jake or Team Devon! Fan me if you want to! (I suggest that you do ;) )

I hid my smile with my book as I thoguht of how cute, to say the lesser word, Devon was. He even kissed my hand! Why couldn't every boy be that sweet? I hardly know him and he was being nice to me.

He never talked to me before though. But, then no one even paid attention to me. Now, everyone is talking about me. It makes sense.

I looked around, my book still hiding half of my face, and realized that I probably was acting childish doing that. Which just made me want to giggle. I covered my mouth, grabbed my backpack, and shot out the door so I wouldn't get in trouble for laughing. I pictured me as a little girl doing that thinking about the cute boy  she met on the playground on her first day of school. Now, here I am. Sixteen years old, in highschool, and a by had just kissed my hand. I smiled one last time at myself and decided that I should be getting to class.

All day I had a little smile plastered on my face. Not once did I think about Jake and his mood swings. When English class came, I was raising my hand for the answer to every question. Mr.Hollowson just laughed and kept choosing me since, a) I had been gone for quite a while and b) No one else was raising their hands.

The bell rang just after I had finished answering my last question and I walked up to Mr.Hollowson."So, did I do good? Am I now caught up with you guys?"I smiled.

"You are actually a little ahead of us. Today was a review for the next chapter. Amber, you have got to be the most put-together-teenager I have ever known. Have a good day." He smiled and waved goodbye to me. This time, I walked out of the room and made sure I did NOT bump into anyone.

As I walked down the hall, I heard my name. I turned around.

"Mira?" She was leaning against the lockers.

"Amber. It is you. You look sweet." She said and then walked away.

"Thanks?" I said to myself.

Everyone who was still in the hall had their eyes trained on me. I turned around so that maybe I could run and hide in the girls bathroom.

"Why are you in such a rush, Kiddo?" Said a familiar voice. It was Devon. I stopped short.

"Sorry, I just..." I looked around at everyone else but Devon didn't pay any attention to them. He just leaned against the locker and looked me up and down. On the inside I squirmed, but Clara taught me to be confident about myself."I thought it was feeling kind of...er, crowded in here." Crowded? This place was becoming a ghost town. Hardly anyone was in this hall. They were all out catching their rides, like I should be doing now.

He chuckled."Your cute, Amber."He paused."What would you say if I asked you to go on a walk with me?" Then, he tensed and his hands balled up.

"She would say no because she is coming with me." It was Jake.

Devon kept cool, I doubt she wants to go with you. You can't even show respect for her. Let alone keep your cool long enough." Devon and Jake were only a foot away from one another.

Jake narrowed his eyes."Don't mess with her, Devon. You know the rules." Jake said through clenched teeth.

"What about you? You know you wanted to go for..."Devon glanced at my confused look."The chance. Your claim is up, Jake. She is anyones now. You should have took the chance a while ago. Too late now." He crossed his arms."Sorry, Kiddo. We might have to reschedule our plans. Maybe some other time though..." Devon kissed my hand and walked away.
