A/N: Sorry about me not updating and stuff. I've been pretty sick lately and I just don't feel like doing much. Some of you might know the feeling. :/
Amber's P.O.V.
I piled clothes into my bag and sighed. This was going to be a long week. Or maybe even month. Who knew?
" Amber," Mira said as she sat up from my bed. " Are you even listening to me?"
" Oh. Yeah." I nodded slowly but kept my eyes on the clothes in my bag. " Listening."
" What was I just talking about?" She crossed her arms over her chest and I strained my brain to remember what she had said. She knew I hadn't listened so she continued on with whatever she was saying. " Don't let your instincts take over. When you are first trying to control your changing a persons personality may start to... change. So just remember who you are, who you belong with, and why you are there. Try not to do anything you will regret."
" How am I supposed to remember that if I am completely thinking of something or someone else at the time? I will be completely taken by all my wolf instincts right?" I snapped at her. Everyone has been bossing me around lately.
" Yeah but-"
" So really none of this will really come in handy. Since I will -yet again- be completely focused on my wolf. So really I don't even have to listen. I'm going back to what I was thinking about." I threw my clothes on my bed and fell into my chair.
" Jeesh. I can't wait until you are on your period." Mira held her hands up in defense and rolled her eyes.
Just then someone came into my bedroom and it was Henrey. " Well I came in at a horrible moment." He turned around and started to walk away.
" We're almost done. See ya some other time Amber. Later." Mira got up and ran out of the room.
Henrey and I sat there in silence. He stayed quiet as he looked at me and I guess he was trying to figure out what I was thinking. Which must have been hard to do since even I couldn't sort out any of my thoughts. Finally, he spoke up and said, " Amber, I should probably warn you about staying at my house. We both know this time will be different than the other times. Jake and Devon don't get along and you know that. The whole world probably knows that by now.
You can't just invite Devon over anytime you want. It's not going to be a little hotel like it usually is. This is only for your well being and that is it. I'm not going to give you any warnings. If something bad happens that you are not supposed to be doing, I'm not going to hesitate to send you back to your father. Do you hear me?"
I sighed. " Fine. Since he can't come there could I go somewhere? Or it that against the rules?" I was being serious but I guess he thought I was giving him attitude.
" You are only allowed to go somewhere if you are with me, Jake, Mira, and that's it. No Devon."
" What? No. I'm not doing this." I stood up faster than I normally would have been able to. Now that I was a werewolf... well that changed everything.
" You have no choice. We're leaving now." He moved over for me and I grabbed my bags. I slung them all over my shoulder and hurried downt the stairs. When I got to the bottom my dad was waiting for me.
" You ready?"
" Yeah," was all I could manage. I slid past him effortlessly and walked out the door. I wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone at the moment. It was a miracle I was yelling my heart out at the moment. I saw Devon leaning against a tree and I dropped my bags. I ran over to where he was and jumped onto him. It seems like he had been gone for so long. In reality it was only a couple of hours.
" Whoa. You sure did miss me." Devon smirked as he looked down at me. My entire world melted. He was all mine.
" Did you miss me?" The words escaped my lips before I could stop them. It sounded really possesive. But, I had plenty of reason to be possesive. I mean... look at him. He's amazing.
" More than you could ever imagine." Just when his lips were about to touch mine... someone called my name. A deep rumbling came from Devon's chest and I smiled. He was mad too. I refused to acknowledge them. Instead I leaned in to kiss Devon. Which they decided to interrupt one more time. This time it was my turn to growl. My head snapped toward them and I shot out a glare that could kill.
" What now?" My words were the equality of venom.
" We're leaving. Get over here. Now." Henrey's tone made me drop from Devon's arms and stop what I was doing. Which Devon really didn't like. So he turned me around and gave me one long and sweet kiss. I, personally, loved it. My father, Henrey, and Jake..... well they didn't.
" Amber!" They all shouted.
Devon smirked and after squeezing my hand once he left. My eyes lingered on his back until he turned a corner. Then I snapped around to find my father standing right behind me. I jumped.
" The next time I tell you to do something, you do it. Don't go near Devon until you are fully prepared for being a werewolf. Do you hear me?" He declared.
My eyes found the toes of my shoes and I swayed back and forth. " Yes, Sir." He left and I followed after him. I kept my eyes to the ground while I grabbed my bags. I didn't forget my jacket though. I had been wearing it nonstop. No one really liked the idea of me wearing Devon's jacket. Especially not Jake.
Henrey cursed, "I locked my keys in the car."
I rolled my eyes and through the car window concentrated on his keys. The keys effortlessly moved into the ignition and started the car. Then, all of the doors unlocked. I next opened the trunk and threw my stuff in the back. The guys just stared at me.
" How do you get so good?" Jake asked.
" Practice." I shrugged and got into the car.
Jake slid in next to me and I almost jumped from how close he was. I wasn't going to complain... it just surprised me. Was he not mad at me anymore or something? I decided to get down to the point.
" Jake. I don't think-"
" Don't worry, Amber," Jake messed up my hair and smiled genuinly. What? " I know that you and Devon are together. I won't do anything to mess that up. You're happy. Besides, friends forever, right? I was just acting weird from the whole werewolf thing. The past is behind us. It can be just like old times." Jake put his arm around my shoulder.
My wolf seemed to like that. A lot. It rumbled like thunder and the feeling of possesiveness and determination swept me under. This was going to be interesting.
I sighed and let my head lean on his shoulder. I suddenly wanted everything I wasn't allowed to have.
Jake was on that list.
Devon's P.O.V.
As I walked throught the woods my wolf growled. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Someone was watching me. I knew where he was. He was above me. I knew it was a human, too. They were completely silent the entire time they were following me. Finally, I had gotten them to the middle of no where. I didn't want to lead them anywhere important.
I pretended like I was going to lean against a tree for a quick break and it worked. They dropped down from a tree and I could finally see what they looked like.
They had entirely black clothes and there was no sign of any weapon. So I just smiled and stood up to fight them. This was going to be fun.
In an instant they attacked me. I dodged their punch and used my foot to kick them into a nearby tree. The fight didn't last for long, though. As soon as I turned into my wolf to fight him, they pulled out a gun.
Bang.
I fell down and pain shot through me. A silver bullet. Of course. My vision was blurring and there were voices around me. They were all muffled, though. Slowly, everything faded away.
The last thing I thought of was Amber.
