Lying to Tyler absolutely killed me inside. I was barely able to make it to the next day at school. We noticed Jenna was nowhere to be found, not that anyone complained. Early in the day, Tyler and I were both called to the office. "Get caught making out in the woods again?" Some upperclassman shouted in the hallway as we made our way to the office. We opened the door, and two police officers were there. I recognized the one as the girl who questioned me after the shooting.

"Hey, y/n, right?" I was surprised she remembered me.

"Yea, haven't seen you in a while. I never did get your name."

"Oh, it's Officer Higgins, but you just call me Ashley. I can't believe you've been through so much in such a short time. I'm sure he," she gestured at Tyler, "has been good support for you." I smiled and nodded. I saw Tyler blush. "Well, since Miss. Black's parents insist on making this an official investigation, we are going to drive you two down to the station and ask some questions. When we finish, we can call your parents to come get you."

Tyler's eyes widened. "Does that mean we get to ride in the back of a cop car?" I giggled a bit at how childish he sounded.

"Yes it does. Don't worry, you won't be cuffed or anything," Ashley joked. Tyler squealed a little in excitement. "Let's go then." Ashley and the other officer led us to the car and we sat in the back, impatiently.

"You nervous?" Tyler asked as I was biting my nails.

"N-no. I'm not nervous."

"Yes you are." He could tell I was, despite my trying to hide it. He scooted closer to me and wrapped his arm around me. He kissed the side of my head, "everything will be okay."

A few minutes later, we arrived at the police station. The officers let us out of the back. As we walked in the station, a strong smell of coffee filled my nose. It reminded me of mornings with my dad. They took us into a room, where I saw Jenna sitting at a table with her arms crossed and a spiteful scowl on her face. Ashley had us sit at the table, opposite side from Jenna. We gave her our basic info and she started the real questioning. "So the report here says that Miss. Black, you have been sending threatening text messages to Miss. l/n's phone, is this correct?"

She scoffed, "I wouldn't call them threatening but, sure it's true."

"And Miss. l/n, you confirm that it was you these messages were sent to?"

"Yes."

"And you did consider them to be threatening?"

"Yes." She wrote a few things down.

"Do you both have your phones with you?" We pulled out our phones and handed them to her. She read through the messages, to make sure they match up. Every once in awhile, she seemed to get surprised. When this happened, Jenna became proud and smirked.

Once she was done asking questions, she gave our phones back and led us out to the lobby area. "Wait, Ashley." I called as she went back. She turned around, "why couldn't this have been done at the school, and like our guidance counselor ask questions?"

"Her," she nodded towards Jenna, "parents refused to do this any other way. They said that if she was being accused of criminal actions, then it should be settled by the police. Basically, as long as you and your parents don't press charges for anything, we should be done here."

"Oh, thanks." She went back inside the main part of the building and left Tyler, Jenna and I alone. Tyler called his parents to pick us up.

When they showed up, Chris waved to us from the window. We hurried and got in, wanting to get away from Jenna as soon as possible. "So, how was the meeting with mini-satan?" Kelly lightly elbowed Chris for his comment about Jenna.
