Chapter 5:A week had passed and Corey had joined our little group of 'misfits', as Josh put it. He had only come back to my little spot in the woods once and during that time we had sat up in the tree tops in a peaceful silence. I guess he realised that it was a place where I liked to relax by myself when he didn't show again. When the end of every break came I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach when Corey didn't appear. Which always confused me.
"So Hattie, what do you think of Corey and Ash?" Ariana asked my best friend Hattie Christopher.
Hattie is tall with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. We have always been close as we can coincidently relate very closely through our relationship problems in the past, even though we dated different guys. She also, just as it happens, sits next to me in maths so she sees first hand how Corey is always glancing in my direction throughout the lesson, which I find very strange...
"Where do I start!" She exclaimed,"have you seen the way he is always looking at Ash and trying to sit next to her! It's so subtle that you have to watch him for ages before you see the full extent of his actions. And I don't think Ash realises this but," glancing over at me as she continues,"her eyes always seem to drift to Corey."
"I know right it's amazing how they haven't started dating yet or anything!" Katie squeals as she looks over at Josh,"right? We need a male point of view here what do you think?"
"I'm no expert but he does mention you a lot and you do look at him quite a lot too," Josh added.
"That's not true," I protest weakly,"we are just friends."
And we've only known each other a week.
"Oh how we find that very hard to believe..." Ariana said as Corey walked up to us.
"What is very hard to believe?" Corey asked as he sat down next to me on the cool grass.
Ok so maybe they have a point about him always sitting near me...
"That Ash has never ridden a motorbike," Josh replied with a mischievous glint in his eyes as he looked at Corey giving him a knowing look.
"Really? Would you like a ride on mine sometime?" Corey asked shyly. Ariana, Katie, Casey and Hattie watched us while they all had matching smiles on their faces.
"How could I if I don't know how to ride one?"
"I would be to one riding it,"Corey said with a slightly hopeful tone in his voice.
Why would he be hopeful it's not like riding on a motorbike with me could be that interesting, right?
"Um..Ok sounds like fun." As I said this a small "oooh" escaped Casey's lips as she watched us intensly, making all eyes turn to her as I gave her a confused expression.
Just before the bell was about to go, indicating the end of lunch, me and Corey decided that he would pick me up at 6 after school and take me on a ride on his motorbike.

It was 5:50pm and I had just finished my dinner and had rushed up to my room to change. I decided I would put my hair in a high ponytail as I took one last glance in the mirror before going downstairs to wait for Corey.
I was wearing my favourite dark green and black checkered shirt with black high waisted skinney genes and a pair of black high ankle converse. Putting on my leather jacket, I grabbed my phone and keys and put it in one of the zip pockets just as the door bell rang.
