Chapter 12:

The Sunday evening Sun shone through my window casting an orange glow around my room. The hair dangling in front of my face glowed with a ginger tinge as I looked down at my phone. This weekend has been full of staring sheepishly at textbooks upon textbooks, trying to remember every tiny word and now I am staring sheepishly at my phone.

As you can tell I have to most interesting life on the planet (hint: sarcasm).

So here I am, sitting crosslegged on my bed scrolling through Facebook. Somehow in my completely bored daze, I find myself looking at Corey's profile.

I tap on his photos and start to scroll through them. They mainly consist of Corey with the same group of boys that I've never seen before.

I guess they are his friends from his last school.

Others are pictures of him with a women that looked around 40 with mousey brown hair and dark brown eyes and a boy that looks slightly younger than Corey but has big hazel eyes and the same blonde hair as Corey.

They must be his mom and brother. Strange...no sign of a dad anywhere.

Just to clarify, I'm not stalking him like some jealous girlfriend, I'm just seeing what he was like be for he joined my school.

I carried on looking through the photos. Every single one was filled with smiling happy people and many had a blue and brown eyed husky bounding around somewhere in the photo, mainly featuring in the photos with his mom and brother.

Wait-how did I notice this before?! Corey has a dog! That can be the only reason why it's in all the pictures. How does he keep on becoming more perfect every time I learn something new about him? I wonder if they kept the dog when they moved?

Hastily I opened my contacts and selected Corey's. I sat there staring at the screen debating whether I should call or text. This won't seem weird right? It's not my fault I love dogs.

Eventually I decided it would be better to text him.

Ash: You have a husky?!

Almost immediately he replied.

Corey: Yeah how did you find out?

Shit, now he'll think I'm a creepy stalker! Think dammit think...

Ash: I was scrolling through Facebook and I saw a picture of you and a husky. I kinda guessed...

That should be believable right? It is half true.

Corey: You sure you weren't staring at pictures of me because you miss me ;)

Ugh, the cheeky bastard. I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.

Ash: So what's the dog's name?

Corey: His name is Duke.

Ash: Cool name. How old is he?

Corey: 3 years old, we got him when we went on holiday to Scotland. We passed a puppy farm and went in just to look but we ended up leaving with Duke.

Ash: That's so awesome. When can I meet him?

Corey: Tomorrow after school if you want to take him on a walk with me.

Ash: Seriously?! That's brilliant, how will I get to your house if I don't know where it is?

Corey: I'll drive you from school and then back home if you want.
